    BEOSYSTEM 7000

I just bought an used beosystem 7000 (4 elements) and the recomended penta 3 active speakers. Can any one tell me if i can connect the PS3 to the aux/tv 7 pin in the back of the beomaster? Is there any cable on the market with b&o 7 pin system in one end and RCA in the other end? Does it work? Thankyou!

Yes, it works, and there are various cables available. You want a five or seven pin DIN to RCA converter cable. You won't need more than five pins, as the others are not for audio.

Have a look here, they're a reliable company. I use them myself.

And congrat's with your new Beosystem, it's a great one. Have the same one myself.

Hello, thanks for your answer on the previous subject. In fact, i bought the cable from an ebay seller, and it works great. I also bought an used beolink 7000 and a mmc4, among other small things to put this to work as near to new as possible! I'm really happy with the sound! I wondered if you could tell me if it is normal or not the fact of the lights of the beolab penta amplifiers turn from red to orange with no logical sequence in stand-by mode. Before i started to use the beolink 7000 (i also have a beolink 1000) the penta had to be in auto mode to light green, but after connecting the beolink 7000, i had to switch to L/R in order to get the green light. Is it like that? The manuals say nothing about this... Thankyou!

If the standby lights on the Pentas are going from red to orange then it is the first signs of a fault with the power amplifier - not unusual on an item of this age!

    Excellent system - my favourite!

I too have exactly the same system as you, congratulations on your purchase.
My Pentas have never shown an orange light, but I have always had them set to L and R.
Do you have a TV connected? If so, which one?
Also, are you aware that there is a switch under the base of the Penta (near the cable plugs) for Video and Audio? In your case should be set to audio.

I suggest you download the Beolab Penta user manual from this site. Make sure that you download the correct version ie Penta I, II or III

Which type of cables are you using to connect the speakers to the amp?

Two types of speaker cables are available. Powerlink cables have 8 pin din connectors and if you are using these then you should set the speakers to L for left and R for right.

Alternatively, speakerlink cables use 4 pin din speaker cables and if you are using these then I will need to read the user manual myself as I cannot remember!!!

I do not think that the manuals list the red to orange fault.  This was showing up in one of mine which was repaired for me via Nobby.

Until we can clear up which sockets are being used and then how the switches should be set, the red to orange could be misleading.
