The 4500 manual is on site but there is not that much in these unless you need to play with the electronic circuits. If there is something specific you need to know, feel free to PM me. To get access to all the manuals then you need to be a silver or gold member.

    Re: Service manuals

    Peter,

The MX3500 service manual on the website is a scan of only parts 2 and 9. Do you have a fuller version, with parts list and circuit description?

    Thank you,

    Mark

Afraid not. These TV manuals are tricky to find and most are incomplete. I have very few TV manuals and those I do are just too big to scan in their entirity. The MX3500 was not one of mine though.

If anyone has scanned copies of the Beovision series we don't have, they will be gratefully accepted! Laughing

    Re: Service manuals

Let's hope some come to light! It's with the TVs that the manuals are really needed, because it's very hard to work out how they work without the information.

    Re: Service manuals

Another TV manual request, I'm afraid, Peter. I've looked through both the Avant and BV3-32 manuals on the site, but none of them contain the circuit diagrams for the printed circuit boards. If I'm to invest in one of these, I'd want to feel that I might be able to repair it! Do you have the schematics? Mark

    Re: Service manuals

As far as I am aware, B&O don't produce circuit diagrams for the Avant after the 8400/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 model. I do have that one but quite frankly, I would have to be mad to scan it! It is huge! I would happily lend it to someone who needed it and was willing to scan it themselves - and give us a copy!!

    Re: Service manuals

It's good to know that you have one. I guess I'd better make sure I buy a 50Hz model! Why do B&O not produce the manuals for later Avants? Do they expect all parts to be returned to Struer for repair? Mark

    Re: Service manuals

They do produce manuals but no circuit diagrams - we have a number of those on site. I hate to tell you this, but the audio range is going the same way. Repair is now by module replacement rather than at component level. Ok as long as the modules are available!!

Re: Service manuals BM6500 - battery

I am trying to fix my BM6500 and have been looking at the Service Manual.  On page 1-7 it states (not quite word for word)  " To replace the battery use only batteries of make and type mentioned in this Service Manual  (see page 4-5)".  Sadly that page is not there.  Does anyone know the missing details of have the appropriate page?

    Thanks

You need to join as at least a silver member. The service manual is on site - here. It is very large and in three parts. However I wonder if it will be very helpful! Sometimes it can be a component failure but these Beocenters are getting older and you may need a new laser. How good are you at electronic repairs?

    Re: Service manuals

    Peter,

You mentioned some time ago that B&O have released only edited service manuals for the later Avants, with the schematics and PCB layouts deleted, as they now have an "exchange board" policy. Is there any hope of these becoming available, as the Avants reach the end of their supported life? As I understand it, B&O offer support and parts for 10 years after production of the last of a series, so this will become a problem soon.

My personal interest is for a "full" service manual for the 8433 Avant, since drawing out my own schematic is becoming tedious!

I completely agree with you. I'll see what I have but am not that hopeful. I'll look tonight when I am home.

    Re: Service manuals

Thank you. It would be really nice if B&O were to agree to release full drawing sets to Beoworld when they cease supporting equipment. In fact, it could help their marketing, since obsolescence would become less of an issue.

I have dug out the service manual for the Avant 32" Type 8400-8

That has circuit diagrams. However it obviously is unlikely to be that helpful! The later ones don't seem to have anything like this.  I can't really scan it - it would simply take too long but I can lend it to you if you want. Let me know.

    Re: Service manuals

I already bought a copy of the 8400 service manual, and as you say, it has a good set of diagrams. Unfortunately, the 8400 is a curved screen Avant. The 843x manual which you've already scanned, I downloaded from this site. Whilst the text actually refers to the diagrams, they are completely absent. I'm therefore sketching out the deflection board schematic, since it is similar to the 8400, but not the same. Whilst I can understand B&O policy on this, whilst the units are fully supported, it doesn't make sense once that support is withdrawn. Thank you for trying. Mark

    Re: Service manuals

I hope I am not nagging too much. I would very much appreciate the VX 4500 service manual. I am especially interested in the VX Sensor connections.

    Re: Service manuals

I don't have a VX service manual of any description. I do have the V8000 which is mind blowingly huge! Never had the courage to start scanning it as it would take up too much room and some of the sheets are bigger than my A3 scanner!

The sensor is a modified MCL sensor without the controls. That might be a place to start looking.

    Re: Service manuals

I am planning to convert a spare MCL sensor to use it as a vx sensor with a vx 4500. I figure the plug is a standard 3.5 mm 3 pole. Now i need to know what wire goes to what pole on the plug.
