Your opinion please! – Two BL9 instead of four BL3 and a BL2

    Hi all!

I have thought about selling my four Beolab 3 and my Beolab 2 and buy a pair of Beolab 9 instead.

    Reasons:

    1. I don't watch movies that much anymore.

    2. I think Beolab 2 is a little bit boomy and slow.

    3. BL9 is a little bit more friendly to small children than BL3 on floor stand.

    Would you switch?

    /Ola

So I would say..... go for BL9 :)

    I would switch.

If you're not watching movies, you got the extra BL3 that does nothing, when you are listening to music. The more boxes tends to result in less sound quality.

Go for the Nines, I almost did, but chose the Fives instead.

I would switch too - BeoLab 9s are stunning speakers. Maybe you could move one set of BeoLab 3s as link room speakers in case you hadn't already thought of it?

    Oh' man tired of explaining.

Simply, you got more variables to get get matched and right. One from the bottom up designed speaker tends to be better than a bunch of separates...

I'm not a fan of subwoofers, they are good for sound effects, but tend to be too slow and boomy for music.

I agree here too and is the reason why I do not have BeoLab 2 as I use my BeoLab 3s for music only. This of course is a different matter if using the BeoLab 3s in a TV / home cinema setup.

I too would upgrade to BeoLab 9s, but if I could afford them I know I would look long and hard for a pair of pre-owned BeoLab 5s instead!

Switch to BL 9, very good for music.  BL 3 in the rear in surround sound or linked speakers.

    Hello

    Thought B 3 's and a 2 myself...

Listened to a range of options in my own house and thought the 9's for music was a much better option and sounded more integrated.

Bought the 9's and Im very happy with them....have seen the white covers too and thinking i might go for them in White!!!!

    Thanks for all your opinions!

The result just confirm my thoughts.

I'll go for a pair of BL9 or a pair of used BL5 if I can find any in my price range.

    Thanks!
