Beolab remote control terminal for Beomaster 8000

Can any of the other remote control units be used with the Beomaster 8000?  The 8000 terminal seems to made out of the material Unobtainium.  Whey are these remotes so rare?

Re: Beolab remote control terminal for Beomaster 8000

The 1982 season catalogue shows a picture for the Terminal to control the Beomaster 6000 having all the same buttons as the one you want.  The only difference (visible) is that the buttons are grey not white.  Other contemporary equipment uses a different control withe fewer functions (eg Beosystem 7002).  The earlier catalogue (pre introduction of 6000) shoes a very different type of remote for the Beosystem 2400 that only operates 4 radio stations, the reocrd deck and volume.  I do not know if the frequencies used were compatible.

Sadly there is no mentions of the remotes in the Technical Data at the rear of the 1981/ 82 catalogues....

The remote for the 6000 does operate the basic functions of the 8000 but not all of them. There are differences in the buttons and functions offered. The remote for the 2400 uses Ultrasound as a medium rather than infra red so will not work. (the 6000 quad uses a similar system and the two share some codes - but not necessarily for the same function!!)

The original 2035 style remotes for the Beomaster 8000 were standard.

The 2035 + remote board for the Beomaster 6000 '80s were optional.

That basically explains why its more easy to find the 2035 than the Beomastar 8000 terminal on its own.

I had my 8000 remote long before I found the Beomaster 8000 which turned out to have the remote missing.

The difference is basically a few more radio channels and TP2 acess. Volume is just up and down but you can adjust left and right speakers.

Keep looking on ebay as they do turn up. If you se either of the two grab 'em.

    Both will work.

Again there is the very rare MCL kit so you can use a Beolink 1000. There was just one on Ebay a short while ago.

The 2035 and Beolab does work great though so there is no need for anything else when it comes for the remote question.

Welcome to Beoworld, and thanks for signing up as a gold member, your support is greatly appreciated !   Yes - thumbs up

As the others already said, the Terminal 6000 will do the common things but also the Beocenter terminal, from Beocenter 7000 and 7002 (not 7007/7700) will also do the basic things.

But if you keep looking, you will eventually find the correct Terminal. They are listed at Ebay and other places occasionally.

You have answers to your PM in your inbox.
