how do i connect the old and the new?

Hello everyone. my lx2800 sadly died and was connected to a beomaster 7000 via the 7 pin din.

    I would like to connect  a beovision 3 32 to the 7000.

i have purchased a 1611 beolink converter ( i was told this one was correct ) but without succes. - no sound - when i touch the end of the 7 pin i get a small hum from the speakers. can anyone point me in the right direction to restore the TV Aux sound i have a beo4 remote and a book but no clue waht i am looking for.

    many thanks Mike

    Hi Mike,

as a Gold member if you go here:

    http://www.beoworld.org/manuals_view.asp?pid=1238

you can download the PCG programme which once you entered your details gives a step by step guide on setting things up. Very useful!

I've done a quick check and it should work but you do need to set the options up for the speaker setup you have .

    Hope that helps,

    Kevin

    Thanks Kevin

I was able to get all the manuals and setup guides for all my equipment - unfortunatley -typiclal - the ones that were really important are both corrupt and i cant open them.

As you were the only person kind enough to respond i wondered if i could call upon you again for any other suggestions

    Kindest regards Mike

Which manuals didn't work? If you mean the PCG guide, remember than you have to manually change the .pdf extension to .exe. Otherwise it doesn't work! If any others, let me know and I will try to fix them.

Mike, how have you got it all connected? You should have a Masterlink cable from the TV to the Beolink Converter.  Then the 7 pin cable you had before from the Conveter to the Aux connection on your BM7000. One thing that springs to mind is that the converter has both a 7 pin and 8 pin connection. Make sure you use the 7 pin. Also have you got a power lead connected to the converter. As it needs its own power supply.

Other than that it should be quite straight forward. Had a similar setup myself with a Beocenter 9000 and a BV3-32. Where are you located BTW?
