    beo decks

hi i am not sure if i am in the right place, but i am looking  for any beo decks that might be for sale (apart from those listed on ebay). If I am in the wrong place would somebody be kind enough to guide me to the right place.

    Many thanks

You can look in the For Sale area. However, which deck are you looking for? And what sort of condition? The most expensive is a perfect Beogram 7000 - it has the advantage of working with the modern equipment. The cheapest common ones are decks like the 1700 - ironic as it probably sounds better than the 7000! Laughing

hi peter, sorry for the delay in reply.  I am looking for anolder deck. I was bidding on a 1203 (1976) on ebay but it was with drawn, so older ones are best fot me.

The best of the older B&O decks is the 3000. However if you like the look of the 1200 series, the one to get is the 1202 as it has the same basic chassis. The 2000 is not quite as good but does have a hinged lid.

Of course if you want the very best, the 3000 Thorens is the one to get though these are rather pricey!

For the previous decks, the SP12 is the best cartridge. If you do go for the Thorens, an SP8/9 was the cartridge of choice unless you go for the 12" arm in which case a modified SP1/2 will be called for. See Frede for details!
