Is it possible to use the beo4 remote control with a beogram cd50?

    Hi everybody!

I'm here to ask you if it's possible to control an old beogram cd50 with the beo4 remote control.

I ask this question because i'm going to buy a cd50 to replace my old broken technics cd player, and if the man who selt this player don't give me the cd50 terminal, it would be difficult to use all the functions of this device so I want to find an alternative solution because it's impossible to find cd50 terminal on the internet.

To finish, i want to say i'm french' and i'm sorry for my bad english.

    Thanks for futur answers.

    Edward.

Re: Is it possible to use the beo4 remote control with a beogram cd50?

It is possible to control the CD50 with a Beo4, but ONLY through a Beomaster of the following types: 3300, 3500, 4500, 5500, 6500 and 7000.

The CD50 was originally sold with the Beomaster 5000, but that particular Beomaster does not respond to the Beo4.

    Living room: BV7-40 mkIV + V8000, BL5, BL3, BM1 and BS9000. Bedroom: MX3000 and BL4500 on MCL2-AV. Around: PentaIII, CX100 and MCX35 on ML/MCL + MCL2-A, BeoPort and BL4 on ML, BS3300 + M75 as stand alone, BC6000 + BC600 and BT1100, LC1, LC2, Beo4, Beo5 and BL1000, BS2 and A8, EarSet2, Apron, Coffee mugs, Enamel Bagdes, Bath towel, Keyring, Books, Lots of miniature and the Bottle opener. Office: BC2300 + BL2500 and BS3. Summer house: BS Century.

    Addicted? Oh no.... ;)

Some CD50s were sold with an additional IR receiver and a separate CD Terminal remote (like the Terminal 5000 used for the Beomaster 5000), but even then, the only remote you can use with the CD50 as a standalone CD player is the CD Terminal. The Beo 4 will only work if through controlling a Beomaster receiver that will respond to the Beo 4 (or Beolink 1000, 5000 or 7000) codes.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for replies.

I'm going to ask the seller if he had this special remote.

If someone had a cd50 cd player, can he explain me what functions its possible to use with just the front panel controls. If i'ts possible to change tracks, skip, pause .., it's ok for me.

...all you can do with the front panel controls is eject a CD, play and skip forward through the tracks. That's it.

Please note that the CD50 must have the IR receiver board fitted to use the CD Terminal remote control.
