Is there a sound difference between Beosound 3000 & Beocenter 2300?

    Hi,

I have decided me for a couple of beolab's 8000 & my concern is which Beosound i should choose?

If i leave the specifikations aside & let the logic talk - Then the later must be better, or??

But, isnt the outside just a another packaging however with the same inside??

If someone know for a fact that there differences between the Beosound models, plz tell me!!

    Kindly regards

    Mathias

There have been many changes - the entire CD mechanism is different. The 2300 was at least initially 16 bit oversampling whereas I think the 3000 uses Bitstream.

I would go for the 3000 I suppose. I am not the best person to advise as I have never really liked this range! I think the plastics used are not high enough quality though the design was certainly fresh when introduced and is a classic now! I would actually get an Ouverture so that I could record from the radio! But if this is not your thing, the 3000 will work with N.Music (get the big clamper model) has good sound and is fairly priced. The HDD in the 3200 is too inflexible to be that useful and naming the CDs which has to be done manually would drive me crackers! Far better get a beoport and a Mac Mini as a server for all your music with the 3000.

What do You mean with "the plastics used are not high enough quality"?

I thought that it was good quality in general when it comes to Bang & Olufsen products.

Didnt Bang & Olufsen use the same material for all Beocenter & Beosound modells?
