I have jost got my fingers in a fully funvtional Beolink 7000 RDS sw3.1 which I am very happy for - even though it is from the early 90's.

However, I have a problem - how do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Cheers - the helpless Dane

If you have a two-way MX7000 it should be: PICTURE left - right (??)

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

Unfortunately it's not an easy question, because this knowledge depends on Your TV's sw version.

First of all: Does Your MX7000 supports Two Way communication?

Did You stored the TV in the BL7000's memory as a "two way" system?

If all answer is YES, and the motorised TV stand is working with the BL1000 (for example), than when You select the "PICTURE" on the BL7000, than You will find the "<STAND    STAND>" options on the BLUE area on the top left corner.

If these options are available, then simply press any option, and turn the stand :)

If these options are not there, or You will receive the ugly "Operation conflict" message, than we need to check the SW version in the TV to solve the problem :)

    Good luck :)

As far as I remember up to Type Nr. 33/93 SW1.1 it was two-way.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

Thank you all for your help. It appears that AT's solutions is close to solve the problem.

Unfortunately when I choose "picture" on Beolink1000  pointed at my old MX5500 I had the choise of turning the stand, but that is not possible on the MX7000.

Thank you for your help, sir. Tour solution might very well work, however, I do not know how to store the MX7000 in Beolink7000 as a "two way system". If you could guide me to that my problem might be solved. Sorry for being so hopeless.

If the current channel number is displayed on the Beolink 7000 while you are watching TV (not Sat or else), then it is already in 2-way mode.

Otherwise, PANEL, SETUP,  SYSTEM, COMPONENTS, VIDEO, TV, TV (again), STORE.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

Thank you for your quick reply, sir. However, it did not work. It appears that the MX7000 sw 4.3 does not support two way communication (even though logically making the stand turn is a one-way operation) in my head). Can anyone think of an alternative solution? I also have non-B&O dvd connected to the MX7000 via Scart and DVB-T Brainwave adapted to work with a B&O remote (and it also works with the beolink7000.

Once again thank you all for your excellent help - much more competent than my local B&O dealer (and I live in Copenhagen where their flag ship store is).

My Avant is one way, and I can turn it with the Beolink 7000.
I press "Picture" twice on the red display, then the >> and<< on the blue display.
Don't know if this helps with your MX, but worth a try.

I think I need to store the MX7000 in my Beolink7000  first - but then your advice should work.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

    Slightly thread hijack:)

I have a similar problem. I started a thread about this but with the MX7000-BL5000 combination.

On the end, i wish to use my BL7000 for my MX7000, but my beolink has a lot of problems. (I buy it so.)

I think, thetwo way communication don't work from the BL side, maybe this is the known hardware problem with the capacitors in this Beolink. Don't know exactly, that my MX7000 is two way, it is type 33/86, SW 1.6

I have the Beosystem 2500 also here, it is for sure two way compatible, but my BL7000 don't see it. (No Contact)

So, after all this writeing, what i wish to know is, have I a real chance to let work the motorised stand with this TV and with this remote control?

    Btw., the BL7000 is Type 1540, SW1.3

    Thanks!

    Charles

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

DevilThe BL7000 does not show the channel number in its display. This indicates that the MX7000 is not two-way. But logically - is it necesssary to move the stand? I can see the logic if I want to use some sort of timer function or other program function - but the stand?

Thank you for your very "hands on" instruction. Even my mother would have understood it. However, it still does not work. And the strange thing is, that when I am in the setup menu on my BL7000 I can turn the stand to position I want it in whenever I turn my tv on. When I am in this part of the menu I touch the << >> in the blue area and the stand moves incrementally (and not continuously as when I use my  Beo4 or Beolink1000).

But there seems to be some sort of contact between the BL7000 and tha MX7000. My problem is to get access to it when I use my tv on an everyday basis.

I have RDS in my Beosystem 2300, but my BL7000 does not show the the RDS info. My B&O dealer is finding a way to upgrade the software in the Beolink7000 in order for it to work - could that be a part of the solution?

I have connected my Beosystem2300 to a Beolab2000 via a 1611 converter. The powerlink plug in my converter is free - could I connect the converter with the MX7000 and get some sort of benefit through that (maybe a "tighter" integration that would make my devilish Devilstand turn by the use of my BL7000.)

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards

See here - if you have software version 3.1 in your MX, I don't think it's possible. Sad

I don't think it will help with the stand - I have the RDS version of BL7000, and can't rotate my 3.1 MX6000 with it.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

Well... we needed to know if your TV was one or 2 way, as it would help us to analyse the problem.

Now the good news, is that you have seen your stand moving, therefore the problem is not a hardware problem.

It is clear that your TV is one of the newer MX7000 that have a software that deactivate 2 way. This TV was delivered with a Beo4.

It also requires the STAND command from the remote, to turn the stand, rather that using the PICTURE command.

The Beolink 1000, 5000 and 7000 can send PICTURE, but not STAND.

So for me, there is no solution, only the Beo4 and Beo5 can send the STAND command.

What I think is strange, it on even newer TV, my BV7 for example, I can use PICTURE to turn the stand.

If you still want to look for a solution, I would look in 2 directions:

    - See if there is a way to send the STAND command with the BL7000

    - See if a even newer MX7000 software would solve the problem. Or see if on the contrary, you would be able to downgrade the software to an older, 2-way version.

    p.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

    Dear Mr. Phil

Thank you for your answer. I think your logic is very consistent - if I could make the BL7000 send a stand command the problem would be solved. If you have any ideas on how to do this I am all ears.

Going down the "change software"-road also sounds like a good idea. However, it would be nice to know exactly which software version would work since it is a rather big job to change the software in the MX7000 (actually I do not have the slightest idea how to that, but somebody must know how). Do you have any idea on how one could find out which MX7000 software supports a "stand turn command" from a Beolink7000. The stand is a MS5000.

Thank you in advance for your advice. I am very impressed with your knowledge, sir.

    Best regards

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

So from what I can understand I am not the only one in the world with this problem.

The most simple solution is just to use the Beo4. However, it does not support the two way communication in my Beosystem 2300. Secondly, and much more important, I think the Beolink7000 is a magic piece of equipment. Nothing can match a Beolink7000 - even though it is big, heavy, batterydrinking, outdated remote control. But that is just my personal opinion.

Thank you for your link, sir.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

    Sir

After reading http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/157006.aspx I found out that my MX7000 has a 4.3 software version. I qoute from the other thread:

    "

AFAIK it depends on the software version of the television. You can check it with menu-0-0-go if you have a Beo 4 (dunno how to do that with other remotes) or simply take a look at the type sticker in the rear. If it says "SW 3.1", the picture command will not operate the stand, not with any remote. If it's 1.something, it should work. There are two different manuals for the MX6000/7000 - the first one talks about Beolink 1000 and the later one about Beo 4.

Thus I need to change the software to "1.something" - does any have an idea on how to do that?

I think I have the exact same problem as Charles (Zugn).

I would just love my BL7000 to work with the stand. It appears the Apple's I-Phone can get cracked within 24 hours, but the software and setup of a BL7000 is unpenetrable.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

Yes, the Beolink 7000 is amazing, especially when used with 2 way items.

I have got one and it works perfectly with my 2 way MX7000.

Regarding sending STAND with the Beolink 7000, 5000 or 1000, I do not think it is possible.

Regarding the software change unfortunately it needs to be done by B&O's technical services. I do not think this TV is flashable, so not even your dealer can do it, but they need to send it to the regional technical centre, or they need to come to your place.

Needless to say that it will be expensive.

I am not an expert and I do not know if your TV can be downgraded. Also there may be new features that you will lose. Your TV will become less compatible with newer B&O kit.

The software in my MX7000 is 1.1.

I had to turn all my remotes to 1 way, since I use my MX as a link TV, connected to a main room BV7.

On the contrary, I do not know whether upgrading will re-activate the PICTURE turns the stand functionality. I really doubt it.

In both case, B&O has a list of all sofware and the features that were added or removed.

Regarding the other threads on the same problem, it seems to be a bit different as here the TV has a STAND menu, and is able to turn, meaning there is no hardware problem and that the software is 1 way only.

Re: How do I turn the mechanical stand on my MX7000 with my Beolink7000

    Interesting, Sir!

You write thatr your BL7000 works perfectly 2-ways with your MX7000 - can you elaborate? Which features does it give access to? I paid £100 for my MX7000 - here in Denmark you can by non-flat screen B&O TV's for practically nothing.

Does anyone know, if there is another non flat screen B&O TV which will work probably (i.e. two way) with my Beolink7000? I know it is a bit crazyParty!!! to choose one's tv according to one's remote control - however - I have a special relationship to my BL7000Laughing...

Thank you in advance for more good advice!

Well channel number is displayed on the BL, menus are different and automatically adapt with the current state of the TV. buttons light up or disappear in function of the context...

Picture and sound settings are done on the BL screen, rather than on the TV.

Clock displays on BL, timer programming for video done on the remote...

If you love your BL get yourself a complete 2 way system! Including a VX7000, a great 2 way Video recoder.

MX7000 is the best 2 way TV, no contest.

Get a BL5000 as a second, more portable remote.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. Phil. However, if I introduce a VCR in order for my BL7000 to function more throughly I think my wife will want a divorce Wink (she alreday refuses to use the BL7000 now that she finally got use to the Beo4). Do you know how the BL7000 works with the B&O DVD machines?

MX works absolutely fine with DVD1 and I suppose DVD2.

An interesting purchase as well is a HDR1, it has an integrated STB-C...

DVD1 and 2, HDR and V8000 are not 2 way, so the current track will not be displayed on the BL. But they will work just fine.
