BeoLab 5 and BeoVision 7-40 Connections

    Hi,

I should know this, but here we go, could i ask how people connect the BeoLab 5 speakers (dont have) with a BV7_40 that i do have?

Definately the powerlink, but is there a digital out for the bv7-40? Do people connect the BL5 to a BS9000 instead and route the TV sound to that?

    BV7-40 - Powerlink - BL5

    BS9000 - Masterlink - BV7- 40

    BS9000 - spdif - BL5

    BS9000 in A.OPT 0. BV7-40 in V-OPT 2. BL5 in L-OPT 0

BL5 chooses the digital input, when a digital signal is detected. Volume control works via Powerlink / BV7-40

    Thanks Stefan,

I see. Is there a big difference between the sound quality of just powerlink and digital?

No big difference. But I can hear it. You can test that when listening to CD disconnect the spdif and you will hear the analog signal.

I think in this configuration the big difference is the BL5 !

If you want to get the most out of your BeoLab 5s, it may be worth investing in a BeoCenter 2, BeoSound 9000 or 5 which all have digital outputs in order to drive your BeoLab 5s to their maximum ability. Not necessary if you want to get a stunning sound though...

Obvious, when purchased new, but easily overlooked when purchased second-life.  You MUST ALWAYS use fully wired PL cables with the BeoLab 5's.
