    Beosound 3 user inputs

    Hi guys,

I'm about to buy a Beosound 3 for my kitchen.

     Any other users?

First I thought about a Beolab 2000, I've had one of these and they're great, but it's pretty big, and of course need the beolink.

I don't have a need for CD playback in my kitchen so Radio and my wife loves her MP3's so that is also covered.

I used to have a Tivoli Audio model one platinum which was OK, but nothing more.

So how do you judge the sound quality of the BS3?

Will the battery hold for a day at the beach? (this could be a good travel companion)

What is the power of the built in amp, since this info isn't available at B&O homepage?

    Thanks

    andreas

Was scathing and dismissive of Beosound 3 - before I actually used one (!)  Battery life was excellent, 8 hours+ at medium volume.  Sound quality quite good, you wouldn't even know it was mono!

Which it had a travel pouch because always worried about marking the lovely case.  Not a bad product at all IMHO.

Agree 100% you cannot tell it is mono. Beosound 3 sounds ideal for what you are after.

The sound of the BS3 is really good. I have my BS3 for almost 3 years now, but I barely used it since I have an iPod. I have some 500GB of music, and what I wanted to listen to befor falling asleep never was on the SD-Card... I think the system with the SD-Card for music is out of date. The only think I use it for now is as an alarm clock...

    Great machine.

When we're at home it doesn't get a lot of use but away from home it's awesome. Versatile and a lot of people are amazed at the sound that comes from such a small box. The battery is an added bonus.

Great for for when you go away. Would be good if you could buy a carry case.

We enjoy ours, particularly the portability and the surprising sound quality. The build quality is impressive and the new lower price makes the decision to buy one a bit more palatable.

On the other hand, since it will be in your kitchen, why not link your room to the main system?

But I will also enjoy it at the beach, take it with me to the cabin etc...

Not sure what the pricing is there but in the US B&O recently reduced the price of the Beosound 3 from $700+ to $499.

    What?!

Man I've been quoted 560 euros with my discount! It's 660 euros here normally...

    Should I wait???

Anyone know if there is going to be a reduction of the Beosound price in Europe?

    Re: Beosound 3 user inputs

I bought a new Beosound 3 yesterday, and the sound quality is better than I was hoping for.

Comparing it to the Tivoli audio I used in my kitchen before, this one wins hands down.

Excellent. I played with it last night for about 5 hours using it's battery, and it preformed flawlessly.

However, one annoying thing, the "STOP" button seems to need about 100 pushes before it works... :(

Emailed my dealer, and I'm going to get a little pissed if he's thinking it's time for a service instead of a trade-in and giving me another piece.

    It's only 24h old.

OK, he said B&O is making a better tough-plate for it and I should wait about 2 months...

What software version should I have in it then?
