    BS5 purchase options.

Something I picked up on in another thread, there seems to be an option as to how you can buy BS5.

Anyone know what these are and cost?

You can pre-order one now with your dealer to receive one of the first allocations when it is officially released in the Spring next year (apparently March/April, but expect the usual long delays!)

Your local B&O will decide how much of a deposit you pay. I've heard the cost will be about £3,500 for both the master and head unit, but don't know if that's with remote or not - very probably not. I've also heard that you will have to pay to have your CDs ripped onto it at about £1 per disc, but since no-one will get one until next year anyway, this might be wrong/change. It's unlike B&O to give anyone anything for free though!

I know that if you order it within the month in Bang & Olufsen shops in denmark within the month, seven years of total warranty is thrown in the hat.

The deposit is typically 10-20 % of total price..

The option you are maybe mentioning is that you can purchase the BeoSound 5 WITH or WITHOUT the BeoMaster 5..

Beosound 5 does not work on its own, so I doubt it can be ordered without the Beomaster 5.

From what i have heard it is the BeoMaster 5 that can be ordered separately in the near future.

    (control via Beo4/Beo5 + infrared-sensor)

This brings a question to me: I doubt that it is controlled by a separate IR sensor if you have a Beo TV, otherwise you could not control it from a link room. However, as it does not have a Scart, it won't have AVL, so I am wondering how it works...

The BM5 does have a socket for an external IR-sensor, so i wonder what that may be used for.

If used without a B&O television, like some B&O Video recorder used to have an external IR socket.

How does it control the Beomedia 1 when you press the PC Key? Through the Scart or through the ML?
