URGENT! Do B&O Make Good Pens?
Hi my name is Langers and i am from Australia. I bought a VW R32 and it didnt come with a pen like it was suppose to but i have been recommended by a number of my friends that drive Ferrari's, Mercs, and P Cars that i should buy a B&O pen. Do B&O make good pens? Where can i get one from in Australia as i heard they were sold in limited numbers? Kind regards, Langers xoxoxo

Re: URGENT! Do B&O Make Good Pens?
Hi Langers & welcome to Beoworld. B&O don't make pens but they have in the past given them as corporate/dealer gifts, usually supplied by other manufacturers with the B&O logo applied. You won't get one via usual sources such as dealers and such items very rarely appear on auction sites. Cheap B&O ball point pens appear all the time on ebay but I get the feeling this isn't what you are after. I have no idea as to the quality of the corporate gifts but my advice would be not to bother and go for a well known brand instead - or go back to your VW dealer and demand the one you should have been given! Chris.

Get a Mont Blanc. Most pens with a logo are cheap pens with a shiny surface.

I did wonder myself why this would be URGENT! @ xegoon - I didn't know B&O did pen sets. Are they any good though? Chris.

A14BEO: I think the real issue here is why he bought an R32?!?
If he'd said "my car did not come with a steering wheel as it was supposed to, so I need one urgently", I would understand, but here...

:D Yes, here in Norway the price difference between the R32 and a slightly used 911 turbo is not that big. :P The R32 is about 100 000 USD.

Re: URGENT! Do B&O Make Good Pens?
I love fountain pens! Actually now collect those rather than B&O!! Mont Blanc do make good pens but they are rather expensive and are regarded by some as a boutique brand. I suppose this could be regarded as a bit like B&O except Mont Blanc are one of the big players.I do have a 146 Le Grand which is fine, but it is a little soulless some how.
The Lamy pictured is a Lamy Studio Matte Black with a steel nib. Worth about £35 new I suppose. The Lamy to get is the Lamy 2000 which is a classic design, dating back to 1966 and with a platinum plated 14 carat gold nib and piston filling mechanism. To be honest, Lamys do little for me , with the possible exception of the 2000. Forget freebies with cars and get a real pen! I am using an Aurora Optima at the moment (I have a rotation of about 30 pens!) and it is wonderful. A little toothiness in the nib makes it satisfying to write with and a wonderful piston filler. I could go on and on but won't this time!

These look nice, Peter. Makes me wish I could actually write something legible on anything else than a keyboard! The VW Passat I once bought in Germany came with a bottle of champagne in the glove box. I kind of liked that

I regularly revert to a fountain pen every couple of months or so to return my handwriting to something most folk can read, nothing flash though just a good old Parker. Trouble is nowadays getting hold of a proper left handed nib!

You can always get a nib ground! I have a Parker 51 with a broad italic nib. Gorgeous!

I take it you write left handed? I always thought that the characteristic of a "leftie" nib was that it was more "ball-shaped" at the end to prevent jarring in the papr as it is pushed rather than pulled cross the paper. I'm not sure how grinding a righties nib would help although I'm willing to git it a bash, where did you have this done?
