Enabling two way communication in AV9000 type 7975 imp teletext

    Hi all,

Thought I would make a post in the workbench forum, to show it is appreciated.

My AV9000 is one of the later generation, in which the two way communication feature had been dropped. Today I down (side?) graded it from software 3.0 to software 1.1 from an AV9000 type 43XX. I previously chose not to link the AV9000 and the beosystem 7000, as this disables the two way communication, and made the beolink 7000 next to useless (beomaster in option 0, beovision in option 2. Did not work properly when optioned as 1 , 1)

I am pleased to report that the TV is communicating happily with the beolink 7000 now, and is working with my AV9000 audio kit MK1, which did not function at all with the one way AV9000 software ver 3.0.

I note that the teletext is not behaving 100% (I never use it anyway).  I am very happy with the additional link functions, and pleased to not have an extra set of speakers in the main room for listening to music.

If I come across any other software issues, I will post them here.

    Hi,

the teletext problem is caused by a newer board for teletext. FastText... the AV9000 is a beautiful extended MX model :)

The same problem appears, when a MX6000/7000 is downgraded from 3.0 to 1.1... wrong teletext board. The  system time will be wrong or not working.

I dont know, wether this board is compatible or maybe identical to the MX series.

    Hi Martin,

Did all AV9000-versions have the 2-way-hardware inside

and only the first version had 2-way-software ?

With MX 7000 IT, i would really liked to have 2-way,

but it seems this version of MX 7000 didn't have the hardware / IR-emitter

and uses a (completely ?) different board (?), so even adding the IR-emitter & correct software

    wouldn't result in 2-way-communication.

This 1/2-way comm. & different versions of products during their product-cycle/life

still is a bit confusing to me.

I was told that all BM4500 (and BM3500) used exactly the same hardware,

difference would be mainly that the software in BM3500 (and later BM4500) used 1-way software,

where the 2-way hardware was simply de-activated.

    However, when i re-built a BM3500 into a BM4500 in black with mirror-panels,

    i also had to use the 2-way/ IR-hardware of a BM4500,

as the BM3500 that i used as base, didn't have the hardware....

    This would mean that from both BM3500 and BM4500 there are versions;

different in both hardware as software.

Apologies for my list of questions,

    but i'm just curious Smile

The MX6000/7000 had 3 major software revisions.

Version 1.1 (two-way) and 2.0 (one-way) used the same hardware, so conversion is no problem.

Version 3.0 (one way) uses a different teletext board and something else i still dont know exactly.

The same happened to the AV9000, the major change is the the teletext board, i think. I dont have a AV9000, just the manual ;)

    Thanks Martin,

The Version 1.1 and 2.0; are they up to series 7800 ?

    (version 3.0 - 8700 up)

Re: Enabling two way communication in AV9000 type 7975 imp teletext

    Sorry,

the AV9000 with imp Teletext did not downgrade to 2 Way communication.
    I've test it :(

The Software 3.0 and the basic components for Teletext to much different.
Only the Types 7800 could be enabled with 2 Way.

The Soft was 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2  for 2 Way, 2.0 and higher are only one Way.

The Types above 7800 did not have the IR Transmitters.

I may have found a suitable teletext board. Will try it and see.
