    Beomaster 1900

    Mark in Norway

    My family and I recently returned from a wonderful holiday in Denmark, we stayed in the small seaside village of Løkken.  I bought a Beomaster 1900 and a Beomaster 2000 at a local ‘løppermarket‘ (fleamarket).  I really do not know the first thing about these, but I fell in love with the design of them.  Both are in excellent condition...  Can someone recommend what type of loud speakers I would need to put with them to get them up and working once again?

     Mvh Mark

    In Danish its called: Loppemarked.

    Sounds like a bargain! Find some Beovox S45 speakers and you are there. They are great for lower output Beomasteres and sound great. They also fit in with the age of the Beomasteres. What type is the Beomaster 2000 as there is versions?

    Avoid the Beovox X and any Beovox that can handle larger output.

    You can see the Beovox's on the main Beoworld site under products.

    Make sure you get the correct Beovox S45s! There are two sorts. I have linked the ones you want here!

    I have a Beomaster 1900 that sounds superb with the  S45-2's that Peter is referring to. Confusingly the S45-2 says S45 on the front so you would need to aske the seller.

     Almost any Beovox speaker from that era  would sound pretty good to be honest.

    Hi

    This was my first post on anything like a user group so thanks everyone for the prompt and great advice. The Beomaster 2000 says 2801 and also ‘by appointment to the Danish Royal Court’ under, if this helps.  It’s lost one of its polished aluminium push buttons in transit so it looks a bit worse for wear.  Our house is also just the right age for the Beomaster 1900, so finding matching loud speakers is very important.

    Hi Macus

    I was at our local dump (or resource recovery centre as they say here) on Monday taking a load of trash... the guy next to me was about to through away a Beomaster 1900... I have one exactly the same we bought 3 years ago in Denmark, I asked if I could have it for spare parts since some of the lights are not working on mine... M

    I plugged it in but only the ‘stand by‘ light comes on...

    Re: Beomaster 1900

    I have S45-2s (that I recapped) and S40s (that I recapped and refoamed).  I have listened to both through my Beomaster 1900 and Beomaster 2400.  All four combinations sounded wonderful.  Here in the US you can get a pair of S40s for $50 that need a refoam, but you will spend more than twice that for S45-2s.  I think the last set went for closer to $200.  That was without stands on Ebay.

    To my ears the S45-2s and S40s are all but indistinguishable.  Both are fantastic.  True bargains in the current hi fi world.

    Current primary listening:  SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70
