    Beolink 7000 Battery replacement

    Hi guys,

I'm new here. Reading some of the posts on the forum has been very helpful for replacing my Beolink 7000 battery. Thank you for sharing all your hints and experience!! As I was looking for a battery replacement pack, I found this on ebay:

    http://cgi.ebay.de/EMPFANGERAKKU-MINI-SANYO-6V-1000mAh-NiMH-GRAUPNER_W0QQitemZ190263269201QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item190263269201&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1229%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Does any of you guys know if this is a pack I can use as a replecment pack?
Thanks in advance for your replies!

    Not sure...

I had mine replaced by a TV repair shop, they built the battery themselves, since it's made up of standard cells.

I think it cost me around 30 euros to have it done. I have also replaced the internal battery, so if you Beolink 7000 battery is completely dead, turns off as soon as you lift it from the charger, the internal battery might be finished too.

I have also changed the capacitors at the reception end of the IR transmission, so it's good that we who own them, take care of them instead of throwing them away.

Thanks for your reply. My Beolink turns off indeed as soon as I lift it from the charger. Where can I find this internal battery?

    Thanks

Well I have no idea, it's not a good idea to open the Beolink 7000 unless you are good with small electronics and mechanics, It's rather complicated. I had the same TV repair shop to fix the internal battery. This was more expansive, since they had to open up the unit, perhaps 60e...

    Re: Beolink 7000 Battery replacement

NiMH cells dont work with the BL7000. Ok, maybe some weeks, but not for years. NiMH cells do not like the loading system of Nickel Cadmium cells used in the BL7000.

If a NiMH cells ist loading permanent with 20-50mA, it will get destroyed after a certain time. Maybe 5-6 weeks... NiCd cells will survive this procedure around 5-10 years without any trouble, if they were designed for it. High Power High Capacity NiCd do not like it, but cheap standard cells will work.

Use quite normal NiCd 700mAh cells, they are also used in telefones, most of them in 5-cell packs ready for plug-in, and they use the same loading system with a permanent current around 20-50mA. And a 5 cell NiCD pack is very cheap just around  ~ 7 Euro.

These here will work... 5.95 Euro :)

Difficult to replace? Why? You need a screwdriver and a solder iron. Red is + and black is -.

If you know which is the hot end of a solder iron, then you can replace the battery... Cool

Well, maybe I've done it wrong, but I always hold on to the hot end of the soldering iron.

    LaughingLaughing

I once picked up one of my pupils who had a nose that looked a bit like an italian plum peeled tomato.
When I asked her what had happened, she told me that, whilst at work in an electronic factory, she had gotten an itch on her nose.
I'm sure you can guess what she scratched it with!!

    Re: Beolink 7000 Battery replacement

It is very easy to replace the battery in the bl7000. Just meld the 2 wires on the wright place and it will work. Don't know what you pay for it, but I've now one from a other brand and it costs only 30,- euro's (instead of the 90,- euro's the dealer asked for it).

Can someone please post a link to a current auction (or give me a source in the U.S.) where I can obtain this 5-cell NiCD pack?

    Thanks in advance!

    THIS should work fine.

    Re: Beolink 7000 Battery replacement

The mirrored panel at the bottom of the Beolink 7000 is no longer available from Bang and Olufsen (worth asking if someone here has one?)

I was lucky to get one of the last when I had my 7000 serviced at the UK's B&O Repair Centre near Gloucester!  I must update my AVATAR to reflect it- but it is so small I am not too concerned.

    Hi Chris,

Followed the LINK, imported some Batteries and now the Beolink 7000 works a treat, THANKS.

On a similar vein, I don't suppose you would know which of this guy's sets of batteries would fit a Beocom 6000?  Got the back off the phone no probs and it looks like 3 AAA cells wrapped up similar to the batteries I bought for the Beolink.  His price was just right, delivery from the States pretty quick, I wouldn't mind throwing some more business his way.  The price of those on eBay seem a little steep compared to this specialist.

I am looking for a 5 pack of NiCd cells for my Beolink 7000. Does somebody have a good idea where to get it? Or a link to a current Ebay auction?
