    Is there Satellite Decoder for Avant 32 DVD

    Hi does any one know if there is such an addon for the latest avant 32 dvd?

    Yes - there is the DVB-S module. No use for Sky but should work for FreeSat I suppose.

    Available and stupidly expensive - £400+ when I last looked though should be less by now. Much better to to use a STB!

    Thanks Peter, besides the cost; is it safe to assume that it will work fine for all the basic functionality, could this operate with motorised sats as well?

    I can confirm that DVB-S supports motorised dishes and uses the standard 14-18 control voltage as well as the 22 Khz tone control which conforms to DiSEqC 1.0 spec.

    It also supports two Conditional Access Common Interface  slots PCMCIA 

    It also supports the storing of 5000 TV and 5000 Radio channels

    I see, Ill ask the dealer for the prices to see if its worth entertaining this solution. I pressume all I need to do is connect the satilite dish cable to the Tv and presto its done, then tune?
