I just bought a nice looking beolink 5000 to control my bc9500. However it has one fault, it does not work in two way mode. I've searched the forums and found that some other people have had similar problems. Specifically it has been suggested that leaky capacitors on the IR receiver board may be the culprits.
I've also learned that the beolink 5000 is difficult to disassemble. It is supposidly easy to break the display cable.
Does anyone have any advice for me before I start hacking this thing open? I would really like to connect the IR recieiver to an oscilloscope to see if it does recieve anything at all.
I also have an old beat up bl5000 waiting for me at my parents, but this one is said to be working. Hopefully the ir-board on this one is salvageable.
Will I be able to move it over safely, or am I just us likely to damage both beolinks beyond repair?
