    Fun With My New MC40

     MC40

I finally made a space for the MC40 cabinet I got at the thrift store.  I put my Beocenter 1500 in it and had some fun just putting some stuff in and on it.  The Technics TT on the lower left will soon be replaced with a Beogram 1602.  I don’t know what I will put under the 1500.  Right now that shelf holds a cool little Norelco reel-to-reel player, more of a desk item than a hi-fi item, but I was just goofing around.

It is the best of all possible worlds.

Lovely piece of furniture. Seem to remember that they were quite pricey when new!

I was lucky.  The people at the thrift store thought it was a headboard for a children's bed; they even put rails for a boxspring mattress next to it.  Once I saw the B&O nameplate, I almost fainted.

I really like the design and the wood. What wood is this and hows the condition? A beauty if you ask me.

    Hello Lars.

That cabinet is rosewood.  It's hard to really capture its warmth and beauty with a camera.

It's not just the type of wood they used but the CHOICE of each piece that makes it great.  They took advantage of the grain and patterns in the wood.

I met some people from Copenhagen once in the U.S. Virgin Islands.  St. John was a Danish outpost a long time ago.  That's as close as I've been to Denmark.

    Have a great day.

Looks great, we have one too sat next to our F1000. Great how you can route the cables through it.
