Beogram CDX would be my recomendation. At the moment I have one connected to a Beomaster 2000 and it sounds superb.

The CD3300 will work but there will be no remote control. It is best attached via the Tape socket and you will need to unscrew pins 6 and 7. The CD3300 is a version of the CDX2

thanks all....would the CDX be able to be driven by the remote? and i know its a silly question , but which two pins does one take out..?

don't forget i'm new to this beo world even if my parents had a few in the past and i grew fond of the accoustic qualities of these machines....

No CD player can be worked by the 2400 remote I am afraid. Only two record players were enabled to work with the 2400 - the Beogram 2400 series (there were actually three types of these) and the Beogram 4004. The cassette players were not remote control and therewas no dedicated CD payer as they had not been made at that stage!!

The pins to take out are the two at the open part of the circle of pins. They unscrew and have a small groove in thetop expressly for this purpose - none of the others are removable!

And don't ever lose the pins! Put them in a tiny plastic pouch and tape it to the cord, or something...
