Hi all!
I used to be extremely satisfied with my Beomaster 1200 + Beovox 1200 combo. Sound was great!
Until I bought a new TV, a beautiful beovision 8902. I have a switch to switch the sound directly from the computer into either the Beomaster or the Beovision. Sound through the beovision is, well, more modern or clean or something, while the Beomaster sounds... a bit distorted, as if you're listening to an old radio. You don't notice it until you compare the TV's sound to the Beomaster's.
I would really like to solve this problem. The Beomaster is of course old, so it might be inherent to the Beomaster.
Then I read about what recapping speaker crossover can do here on the forum, and it seems to me that it is the solution to my problem!
I tried to open the beovoxes up, but I can't get the speakers out to reach the crossover circuit. The back of the speaker is glued shut, guess it is not an option to open that. How to solve this?
I'll try and find some good capacitors for a not too crazy price (heard good things about Solen) but first I'll need to know what caps are inside...
Any help is greatly appreciated!
