Hi there Beoman, and welcome to BeoworldSmile
It has been done by some of our members, but I believe it is a complex job.
I'll do a search and see what I can come up with.

    Hi there Beoman247,

Given a few minutes I could point you to a myriad of threads on the subject of refurbishing RL60s. On the other hand if you search in the General and Vintage forums you can find the threads yourself by searching for RL60 and ABR's.

Distilling all advice you can replace the failed ABR with a replacement "tuned port" kit from B&O (search and you can find the B&O spare part number) or you can forward the frame and centre weight to some one like our member DILLEN, based in Denmark, to have your ABR's repaired),

    hope this helps

The tuned port kit from B&O dealer was ~£60 two years ago.

    Hi Hassan,

    You have several options:-

    1) Do nothing (VERY bad idea, as your speakers will sound terrible and are likely to suffer damage due to lack of air resistance in the cabinet).

    2) Ask an expert such as Dillen to re-foam the ABR panels (assuming that you still have the metal panels)

    3) Ask your local B&O dealer for a Tuned Port kit (see the end of the following thread for details) at a cost of around £60 per pair.  This makes the RL60 sound AWESOME, a BIG improvement and well worth the money!

    http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/42542.aspx

    4) (Last resort) patch up the ABR holes with thick wooden panels cut to size so that no air escapes.  This will mean you lose a little bass response, but will save you damaging your speakers.

I went for option 3 (Tuned Port conversion) and did a capacitor upgrade at the same time.  As you will see from the linked thread above, I am very pleased with the result!

    Best regards,

    Steve.

    Hi Hassan,

as you have similar questions spread across 3 sperarte threads it's difficult to keep up - the answer you want is in one of the other threads but I've copied it here -

..............the B&O part number for the replacements is 8480128. They were certainly available from the dealer on the 4th Jan 2007, when these were purchased (at a cost of £58.24). They are for RL60 type 6503 and convert from ABR to a tuned port bass system.
