I was afraid this day would come. I've been putting off buying a BeoSound 2 for almost a year now, there was always something more important to get... But it seems this is the last chance for me to get it. Until I ask my dealer on monday, do any of you know if it's still possible to get a new one? I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem since they've only announced it a few days ago, but I had to ask anyway.

They're about although not common. If you ask about a bit you should come across one relatively quickly. I've been thinking about trying to get hold of one myself simply because of how it sounds...

I am sure that this is great news for the company. IMO it is the first step (back) in the right direction!

They won't stop , I think it was only mentioned not to develop any new mp3 players. But the current mobile phones and mp3 player will be available as always...

Re: B&O stops MP3 player and mobile phones...

Could it be that B&O will only stop selling the BS6, the Serene and the Serenata, the products co-produced with Samsung? This would make sense IMO, because none of the three is a good seller. BL2 has been there for a longer period and is not selling to bad. Can anyone confirm?

Your dealer can order a steel shell replacement of your BS2. And you don't have to be engineer to replace it :-) I've done it with mine.

    Hi Karel,

May I ask how much you paid for the replacement aluminium covers?

Re: B&O stops MP3 player and mobile phones...

I would give the metal parts of the BS2 to someone who ist working with metal. They can polish it like new. Years ago I gave an aluminium shifting knob full of scratches to a friend of my parents, who makes metal parts for the car industry and he polished it like new. I would like to say, it was better than new.

Re: B&O stops MP3 player and mobile phones...

So I got my new BeoSound 2 on friday and when I took it out of the box the plastic part which connects to the dock was somehow broken - it was hanging out on one side. So I took it right back to my dealer. I called them today and he said there seems to be a part missing or is broken and that they will order it and fix it. What I'm thinking is, taking into account that it's brand new ( I just took it out of the box, saw the broken piece and took it right back, that's it ) that I deserve a new one and not the fixed one, since this was not my mistake. Am I right in thinking or am I asking too much? Any consumer laws about this maybe : ) ?

If you receive something dead on arrival, it must be replaced.

I got a new one today and they were very kind about it all. Strangely, I think it's one of the older models, because it came with a 128MB SD card and a pouch for the A8's, whereas the broken one just came with a black bag with B&O's logo and a neck strap. Anyway, I'm not complaining, as long as it's new and nothing is hanging out. But I now have another problem - it doesn't work with my MacBook Pro. Here is the detailed description, so if someone can help - please do : )
