Do you know if the BeoVision 8-40 (spring 2009, i think) will have the famous electronic curtain ?

It's not so much important but i like it on my BV3 !! 

Yes as it would be based on the same platform as the new BV7-32, I think.

Hello everybody ..... do any of you experts know, when the BV8-40 will be available ? I thought it would be before christmas, but talking to my local dealer, it was hinted, that it might not be before Q1 2009. I was planning to give my self a very nice christmas present this year, but that might not happen ...§:-( ....

Blue-ray ..... does anybody have experience with B&O / Blue-ray .... any recommendations regarding Brand/type/model ?

I recommend Sony BDPs350. Its in the B&O PUC SW so its easy to update the tv to remotecontrol it.

In denmark it costs around DKK 3000 approx euro 400.

Are there any specifications available of the loudspeakers of this new LCD TV?

Also very curious about the speaker specifications/performance.

Furthermore I understood that the BV8-40 would include a DD/DTS decoder; but the specifications do not show this???

B&O's specifications have always been very vague. Surround is included into the 40" version. ML is optional and will set you back around 70€.

are you ready to swap your BV3 ?

The BV8-40 would be cool with your BL8000 !

IF my BV3 would break down then I'd go for the BV8-40 without hesitation. But at this point the BV3 is alive and véry kicking... and the € 4K is something that my bankaccount can take at the moment. But I see no reason the switch a fully functioning BV3 for a BV8 at the moment.

Hi Karel, how old is your BV 3? How many days (service menu) has it served you so far? Mine 327 days so far so I hope to enjoy it for several years.

Funny how things are.

Since several months, I'm thinking that the day BV8-40 is launched its for me because I whant a bigger screen and it cost what I'm ready to pay for.

Of course, I prefer BV7-40 with BL7-2 but I'm not ready to pay 12.800 € for it.

I don't like the built quality of the set (no contrast screen) but I like for example the curtains and I don't use the motorised stand anymore.

But now that the day as (almost) come, I don't imagine a second get rid of my wonderfull Avant.

The picture is perfect with cable TV or DVD and the sound amazing.

What else ?

For me it's just the oposit. In my (very) humble opinion the 40" looks sleeker and more tailored than the 32" and 26". I'm not fond of the 2 smaller versions but he 40" would be a nice replacement.

I have just seen the set and this is my impression, too. BeoVision 8 actually looks better and better to me every time I see it. I must admit that I was not crazy about the speaker integration at first.
