Beo5: Charging doesn't seem to stop

Good evening (in my timezone) ;-)

I put the Beo 5 on its charger yesterday evening and checked it this noon and the display was still showing  "charging".
    Is this normal behaviour?

    Thanks

btw: My battery life seems to be ca. one week off the charger. That's okay.

Have you got the base plugged into the usb on your computer, or are you using the mains charger?
If the former, then it takes forever and a bit to charge.
Why are you leaving it off the base for a week??  I would pop it back on its base every night before bed.
It is not like a cellphone that benefits from being run flat before recharge. More like a Beocom 6000 that likes to be on its charger all the time, the onboard computer decides as and when it needs charge.

It's plugged into the mains charger.
I thought the same as you that the Beo 5 charger is intelligent enough but I'm a little bit confused about this "charging" message after >9 hours of charing!?

Is this normal behaviour? Does your Beo 5 show the same? Please tell me YES ;-)

This is normal behaviour. "Charging" is a state information telling you that it is correctly placed in the charger rather than it is really charging. Likewise with the Beocom 6000 where the charger (or the phone itself for the newer models) indicates "charging" with a green LED, which only means that it is correctly placed in the charger. "Docked" or something similar would probably have been a more correct information rather than "charging".

Charging is controlled by the software in the same manor as with the cordless telephones.

    Thank you for the explanation.
