hmmmm... Beolab 8000s in white. One word eww!!! With white cloth grilles you can totally see what goes on underneath them and plus a white cloth grill with back base? What the..... IMHO of the whole range of Beolabs the 8000s are the least suitable candidate for white cloth grilles. In fact shiny aluminium finishes never go well with dull white. Well unless that is you are going for a more arty laid-back 60s look.

This looks like they spent all of 5 minutes on design.  Why would you ever want this on your wall?  It looks terrible.  Talk about a wall wart.

    Re: News

can anybody confirm the wallcharger in Week 42? I called my dealer today and he doesn't know anything about it?!

Would be nice if B&O is offering two versions:

    - the "active" with charging functionality

    - the "passive" that just acts as a wallbracket like for the Beo 4

    Re: News

To my knowledge the Beo5 can be operated while placed in the wall charger in the same way that it can be operated in the table charger. Operation in the charger is the reason for the design of the charger being able to support the back part of the alu ball during operation to prevent it from being pushed out of the charger.

Does it light up? Yes - when you touch the glass or alu ball it will light up. But since the power usage of the backlight is rather big, the backlight will not stay on while placed in the charger. It will dim as it does in the table charger.

IMHO the wall charger looks nice in real life.

This is a Early sample Sad.... the real thing looks nothing like this. Instead think BL8000 cone in small version and placed beo5 on it.

Hello Sheeps ... Someone has given you fake & early sample images Laughing

How could you believe that B&o would have use cheap plastics for its wall-charger ?
It's of course iron made ..
With the information of Stig, it could look like this...

I think the sheeps are right: I saw the same (official) pics of Beo5 Wall Charger two weekes ago Hmm

The question is not "How could we believe that B&O would have use cheap plastic", the question is "Why B&O would use fake official pics of new products in retailers info?" Erm

I doubt if that will happen!  Beo4 will happily sit on a wall bracket for over a year without the need for new batteries.
B&O recommend Beo5 lives in its charger so I can't see them making a non-charging version.

I wish I could manipulate images like you Tomaz, you're on a parr with Peter Pan!

B&O already make a cheap, nasty, tacky-plastic base for the Beo5, surely they won't make another for the wall!
Hope it is more like Tomaz's than the Sheeps'es.

He is wrong. It is a wall charger - the cable length is able to be extended as necessary. It is however black plastic!
