Yet another problem with BeoCom 6000
Hi all (and hello Keith)! I've got a BeoCom 6000 mk1. I bought it day one it was released so my old hand set is from 1998. In 2000 I bought a second hand set (here called new). I almost only use the new one as I have it on ground floor. The old one is in the cellar with the base. Both sets are working, but here comes the problem: Almost every call is answered with the new set. I can see new incoming missed call with the blinking led on both handsets, but the blinking doesn't stop on the old one when I've checked them on the new handset. The oldie can't see that the newbee has checked them. The old one has had a hard long life and has hitted the concrete floor several times, but it's still alive. I've tried to turn them off and on but no change. Any suggestions or is a trip needed to the repairman?

Re: Yet another problem with BeoCom 6000
Hello Daniel, So, you have one of the very first Mark I Beocom 6000's, that has certainly given you good service. I am assuming that the "Problem Statement" you highlighted has always existed, but it is only now that you thought you would try an get it fixed. If this is the case and given the 10 year age I am guessing that you have a very low firmware revision, so updating both phones firmware to the latest revision for the Mark I of version 2.5 would be a good course of action. This is a simple task for your dealer provided he/she has the approprate service jig. If however, it was previously working correctly, but now it does not, then clearly a fault has occurred and the PCB would need to be replaced. Unfortunately Mark I PCB's are no longer available from B&O, so in that case your only option would be for the handset to be upgraded to a Mark II version, but without the Earset socket. You can see HERE the details of teh upgrade kit

Re: Yet another problem with BeoCom 6000
Well... I am having a problem as well with my Beocom6000s. I have 1 pyramidal base/charger and two handset. It used to work fine and since last month, the Redial and Callers list are not updated on both hadsets. I can still memorise numbers, but when I press redial, it is still the same people as 1 month ago. Same thing for the callers, it still displays the same missed calls, even if I just had one!!!!! Any idea?

Yes... (feels like you've got a crystal ball)... Numbers are showing up though... and the problem only appeared later after the ADSL+ connection....

Re: Yet another problem with BeoCom 6000
If you have access to another phone line without ADSL, then I would try your Beocom base on it and it may well work. There are several issues related to phone lines which are ADSL enabled which effect Mark I Beocom 6000's and Beotalk 1200 and depending on phone line conditions problems can appear intermittent or solid. Added to the phone line itself are the types of "Microfilters" used on each phone extension. Generally speaking people use the microfilters which come with their router or ADSL modem which as the name suggests filters out certain frequencies, but may not be totally suitable to your situation. I suggest you look HERE for the different type of microfilters As a first step I suggest you try you Beocom base and phones on another phone, perhaps a friend who does NOT have an ADSL enabled phone line.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe this is a new phenomenon. I think I will check with my store. Of course I want a fully working system. Yes, she's been a good phone and has really been value for money. Thanks Keith!

Re: Yet another problem with BeoCom 6000
The phones are operating as wanted again. I haven´t done anything, maybe they just had a bad day (or rather bad month). Yeah, I know the problem will probably come back another day, but until then I will continue to use and enjoy my faithful old servants.
