Is there a Chance to control non B&O devices like Satreceivers without the STBcontroler ?

(My Satreceiver includes a HDR and is not listed for the STBcontroler (BV6-22))

Yes... but it seems that it has to be configured by your dealer.

It has a usb dock. I could image it to sync  the playlists once it is placed on its dock.

    Re: New BEO-remote

Whilst we're on the subject of remotes, with my older TV I have a remote that looks like the Beo4 that I got with the BV7, but the screen is see-through.  Actually I quite like it.  The funny thing is that it won't work with my BV7 and the Beo4 I got with the BV7 doesn't work with my older TV. Does anyone know why?  What do I have to do to get, say, the Beo4 to work with both old and new TV???

    Thanks.

    Re: New BEO-remote

Hi Kaka. The remote is a Beolink 5000 which I think was the last two way remote that B&O made. I think it should work your BV7 but you might have to put it in one way mode.
What model is your old TV? If Beolink 5000 works it, Beo4 should too.
If I'm wrong, I'm sure some WOS (Wise Old Sage) will jump on here and correct me.

Your remote is the Beolink 5000. It uses 2 way communication... so when it tells your tv to change channel, it also asks the TV to reply, so that the remote displays the channel number.

The BV7 and most Beo products that have MasterLink are 1 way only and do not understand 2 way codes.

You can however set your Beolink 5000 to emit only 1 way codes. You can set it for the Video and or for the Audio.

The downside is that your Beolink 5000 will not display channels, volume, etc... on its screen.

I do not remember how to change this, maybe you can look at its manual or some here can tell.

The Beolink 5000 will then behave like a Beolink 1000. It is even possible to emulate the color buttons, by using Shift + Arrow.

When is this bad boy for sale then?  I have a Apple Tv and its fantastic, but to be able to control it from a B & O RC would be the icing on the cake so to speak.

It can already be done (with Lintronic). You can use a Beo4 or a Beo1. Still, I too am eager fot the new toy (er Remote).

    Re: New BEO-remote

Thank you all - it works!!  Actually, it is funny, but both me and SWMBO like the older Beolink 5000 more than the New one.  And now it works with our BV7 and the MX7000.  Which is great!  Cheers.

    Hi,

I suppose somebody's already asked, but what will be the price of that jewel?

Will she control "old" stuff like, say, BC2300, BC9300 or AV5?

    Cheers, Laurent.

    Avant 28 DVD, BC2, 2300, BL2500, 8000, to name a few...

    Price: around 500 €

IR codes are the same as BL1000, Beo4 etc. - so yes it will control older stuff.

    Re: New BEO-remote

It was easy to include the remote when the Beo4 was the only option. B&O will drop the Beo4 during 2007 and instead offer two very different remotes: one aimed at those that only need basic operation (ie owners of just one BeoVision 8 etc) and one that is aimed at those with B&O-house. So it does make sense to give the customer the choice - one BeoCenter 6-26 customer may need the Beo5, another will just have a bunch of distracting features made available.

The current Beo5 can't do much more than the Beo4, but it has the upgrade potential and hopefully B&O will use the "delay" to offer playlist sync. One neat thing is that B&O have created logo's for various TV channels, and you can have these presented on the touch screen in much neater way than the current way. The not-so-great thing is that only your dealer can update it via USB at this point in time.

The Beo5 will sell for approx 3.800 DKK (or take your local current price for the Beo4 times two and add 10-20%)

    Roger.

So the Beo4 will come to an end this year

    New:

    - Beo5, at the beginning without many features; updated later on via usb by a Beo dealer

    - new RC with less features ?

Humm... are Beo making two new RCs ? Geez...
