Problems with connecting Beocom 6000 handset to base

    Hi,

I have problems connecting two used Beocom 6000 handsets to the Beocom 6000 base. I have followed the instructions from the manual, and I can also get a third handset connected. Batteries are OK, and there are space enough on the Beocom 6000 base for additional handsets (only 1 phone is connected at the moment).

Any ideas what is wrong? I can't find anything on the internet, which relates to the above.

I really hope that some of you can help me.

    Many thanks - Thomas

A very warm welcome to your first posting on Beoworld Thomas.

You say you have three Beocom 6000's of which two are used, so I am assuming you have recently purchased them ?

What version Beocom 6000's do you have ?

A Mark I will have a DOT button at the 9'o clock position next to the dial and a Mark II will have the letters INT which do you have and are they all the same ?

    Regards Keith....

    Hi Keith,

Yes - I have just purchased the two used Beocom 6000's. All the handsets are Mark I. I do also have two Beocom 6000 bases - and I can't connect the two used Beocom 6000's handsets to any of the bases.

Are you sure that you have not purchased US versions of the Beocom 6000 ?

To check, remove the battery and note the 4 digit "type" number on the label.

    Regards Keith....

I'm having problems with my set-up too. See my earlier post from today. Not sure if these problems are related!

I'll report back if I can finally get my 3rd handset registered.

    Cheers,

    John

Have you checked that they are not already registered to another base? If so you may have to remove them using the handset menus before registering them to your existing base.

    Hi Keith,

I'm 100% sure it's not US versions. 4 digit numer is 0188. I'm 100% sure they are danish (which I need)

    Hi Chris,

They are not registered to another base. Under the menu I can see, that no other bases are registered.

    Hi John,

As I can understand, you have problems with the PIN-code on the handsets. There are not PIN-codes registered on my handsets, so I don't think that we have the same problem.

    Cheers,

    Thomas

    John,

What Chris is noting is correct due to a software error, if you reach the maximum number of handsets registered and try and registered another it requests a pin code..

Well, that's interesting because the "type" number of a Danish Mark I Beocom 6000 is 0600

Is the language of the handsets in Danish or English ?

Check the software version and country type of the two Beocom 6000 press DOT 70001, the first figures should show the country code

    Regards Keith....

    Hi Keith,

The language of the handsets is Danish. Software version and country type is 045-2.10     0003091514

Re: Problems with connecting Beocom 6000 handset to base

Well, something is not making sense here, so lets recap on the situation.

    • You have three Beocom 6000's, the original works fine with any of your bases, but the two recently purchased Beocom 6000's do not register with any base.
    • The "Type" number of the two purchased Beocom 6000's is 0188, so what is the "Type" number of the Beocom 6000 which does work ?
    • All the handsets use Danish language and have country code 045
    • All handsets have been de-registered from the base, but only the original will re-register with the base
    • The software version of all the handsets is 2.10 with the latest version being 2.50
    • The two purchased handsets show NOT REGISTERED on the screen.

Is everything correct above and has the working Beocom 6000 been de-registered from the base and then re-registered again ?

Also, de-register the working Beocom 6000 and try and register one of the purchase units again.

    Regards Keith....

Re: Problems with connecting Beocom 6000 handset to base

    1) Correct

    2) "Type" number of the Beocom 6000 that works is also 0188 - the same as the two purchased Beocom 6000's

    3) Correct

    4) Correct

    5) Correct

    6) Correct

I have tried to de-register the working Beocom 6000 from the base, and re-register it again, and it works without problems.

Re: Problems with connecting Beocom 6000 handset to base

Well, based on your answers I would say that the RF chips in both purchased and failing Beocom 6000's are faulty. You may have been sold them because they were faulty.

If you wish to get these two handsets repaired or updated to Mark II's then please send me a PM

    Regards Keith....
