Time to part with BS 3000 and get the BS4?

I'm seriously considering parting with my BeoSound 3000 and getting the BeoSound 4. First consideration for me is style. I don't consider the BeoSound 4 quite as stylish as the BeoSound 3000 (wife definately prefers the Beosound 3000) so I'm looking for some technical benefits. Off course I'll get the SDcard and the record option but will I get any other benefits? It will be connected to the BeoLink in the house. Should I upgrade or wait for the new BeoSound 5 - if so - what will be the benefits and what would the price of the new BeoSound 5 be approximately?

Personally I would not choose the Beosound 4: I prefer the Beosound 3000.

The bs4 looks cheap and the base is a shame (it just isn't the quality we expect from b&o) as are the different stands(they just had to put the cables in it: wich can't be that difficult).

The disc loading isn't easy..., etc....

The bs5 will be a better option (if it performs) and will complement your bs 3000

oh i woudl not change it i had a 3000 and its a thing of bueaty and the beosound 4 does not cut it

yeah its got DAB radio (standard in the UK) and memory card reader but apart from that its no different

i bbought one in place of my beosound 3000 and kept it 10 months and got rid

the 3000 catches peoples eyes when they walk in "is that a ......."

the beosound 4 no one relaly noticed and the sensors are not as good to detect when to open the door.

If i sstill had the need fo ra cd player it would be the 9000 or the 3000 over all other models.

    hoep this helps

    I agree completely;

To me going from BS3000 to BS4 is a jump backwards in all senses, style, materials, DAC converter, elegance. Wait until BS5 arrives or switch to BS9000, a cult player no daoubt about it.

     Good luck.

i´d stay with the bs 3000 or you buy the bs 4 and don´t sell your bs 3000 if that´s an option

Opinions much appreciated and it seems the verdict is clear. I must say my wife is quite pleased.
Even though having both is tempting it's not an option in the near future. My B&O budget is regulated by the above mentioned authority and the newly acquired 7-40 MKIII streched the budget to it limitUnsure
For now I will keep the 3000 trusting the judgment of Beoworld's when dubting my ownEmbarrassed

I think the same!!! Great decision!!

With BS 3000 you have more then just great technical capability, you have iconic design and true B&O!

For me upgrade for BS 3000 is ONLY - AND ONE AND ONLY BS9000!!!

I will never change mine for now is 10 years of usage and it still catch the eye....and of course always the same question "is this a...... uaaaau :)"

So sometime is good to hear your wife :)
