    MX4000 Questions

    Hi all,

    a couple of new questions if you can be kind enough to post with any answers

    1) MX4000 with motorised stand and Beo 4 remote - I have the AV programmed in the menu as non B&O VCR to watch Sky in my bedroom - that is the only connection I use - I turn the TV on using the Vtape button to view Sky - however to access the Stand I have switch back to TV (channel 1 for example which obviously has no picture being transmitted) otherwise the stand icon does not appear and I cannot control the move it - anyone know of a workaround - I would like to be able to access the stand function at any time and not have to switch back - basically I want to show off to family and friends and the process of switching back and forth spoils it a bit

     2) My current MX4000 has a couple of scatches on the acrylic contrast screen so I therefore bought this from Lincoln B&o as it has a clean screen and a good deal too

     http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280269234056&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018

     I get all the way back from Lincoln to find the TV will not come back out of standby (never checked it before I left assuming from a dealer it was cool) - I now have a difficult choice to either a) get a refund which I do not really want as the Beo4 remote is worth the auction cost anyway b) drive all the way to Lincoln to see if it will be repaired but have to consider fuel costs there and back twice will be circa £70 at least c) swap over contrast screens with my existing TV

    3) anyone ever swapped over a contrast screen on the MX4000 and it is a simple job or requires a technical background?

    I would appreciate any advice you esteemed readers can give

    Thanks

    Bernard

    How are you adjusting the stand on the 4000 .... with the stand option on the beo4 or with the on screen menu or is it an early one where you have to cycle the picture options on screen until it says sound?

    Acrylic screen replacement is easy ... the glass ones are tougher.

    I wouldnt quibble over the auction ... you got a good deal, even with it not working.  But these are usually straightforward to repair.

    hi Neil,

    I am selecting stand on the Beo 4 - then clicking OK and using the direction keys - but again this is on TV and there is nothing but static on screen

    when you say easy - how do I get it off - does it click off or do I need to take the whole TV to bits

    Think you are right about the deal

    Have not managed to check this on mine ... what software version is in the TV?

    To remove the screen ... if its perspex, put your finger nail under the bottom in the middle and pull out ... that's the simplest way.

    To replace ... insert one side in ... then flex screen and then insert other side.

    Re: MX4000 Questions

    Hi Neil,

    you are a legend my friend - swapped them straight over - it looks superb with a nice clean perspex cover on it  - although I had to use 2 polishing cloths as gloves :)

     Checked the menu and do not see any ref to s/w version - any ideas how to get it up? (no double entendre intended)

    The software should be on the back of the TV, but if someone has swapped the cover this might not help.  On the Beo4, try the following ...

    Press -> Menu

    Press -> 0

    Press -> 0

    Press -> Go
