Hello,
I am new on
this forum: I recently bought on eBay two out-of-order Beogram 4002. For the
little story, the first one had a short-circuited solenoid and I found that the
previous owner strapped the fuses until complete destruction of rectifier diodes
and transformer occurs… The second one had the tone arm lever mechanism jammed
due to corrosion.
After some
efforts, I rebuilt a fully working 4002 but I am now facing the following
mechanical issue:
The table
spindle shows an unacceptable play in his bearing (about 5 mm measured on the
edge of the plate). I see no way to adjust it. I wonder whether it is due to
wear of the copper bearing but I don’t see any copper dust around it. Both
tables show exactly the same defect. Did somebody face this problem already?
Should I replace the bearing (if available)?
Thanks in
advance for your advices.
Laurent.
