    BeoCenter 2300 + BeoLab 2 + BeoLab 3

    Hi there,

I have been offered a working BeoCenter 2300 for almost nothing. I'm new B&O's active speakers, has ontil now only being using the old BeoLab 5000, BeoMasters and passive speakers.

I'm wondering which speakers I should be using.  My wife like the BeoLab 3, which I also can get second-hand to a resonable price. Would it make sence to use a BeoLab 2 together with the two BeoLab 3? Is that possible to make such configuration?  Does that make sence?

How is the speakers connected? Dows the left+right signal run from the BeoCenter to BeoLab 2 and from here to the BeoLab 3? Will the BeoLab 2 remove the sub/low frequencies from the signal before sending it to BeoLab 3?  Or does it work totally different?

Is there a guide available telling how all this modern stuff (PowerLink and active BeoLab speakers) works?

    Regards  Nis

    Hi,

Yes, that it possible and yes, you are correct.

Powerlink runs from the Beocenter to Beolab 2, Powerlink from Beolab 2 to Beolab 3.

You can read about Powerlink and active speakers on the BeoWorld Main Site / Articles

I say, you don't need the Beolab 2, but depends on your music taste.

Just take a few CDs to your dealer and listen to the Beolab 3s with and without a Beolab 2.

I had exactly your combination for a while. The BL2 makes much sense if you have a bigger room or listen to higher volume as it takes a bit of stress of the BL3.

    I love mine, its hooked up to a BC2 / BV8 now.

Connection is no problem. You connect teh BL2 with one cable to BS2300 and then the BL3 to the BL2.

As suggested I too think you should drop by a dealer and take a listen to the BL3 with and without the BL2 but personaly I think this combination makes perfect sence. They look perfect together and I think the BL3 needs a sub.
