    The original Beolab 9

Is it just me or is the original Beolab 9 cooler then the production 9?

Maybe they should think about the idea to offer this or a similar concept as a modular surround 5.1 or 7.1  system.

I have to ask why would B&O want to. The speakers above aren't ugly, but compared to the Lab3 and Lab9s, are no different in looks to offerings from virtually every other speaker company.

I like the idea that B&O push the barrier on design - people either love or hate the look of Lab9 and 5s - but few are indifferent.

Personally I disliked the look of Lab9s when I saw them in a photo, but having actually seen them and now bought them, love the ultra modern look - a 00's look, not something from the 90's.

But cheers for the photo!!Big Smile

Don't like this design, not a touch on real BeoLab 9s which are beautiful...

this somehow reminds me of the BeoVox CX range. Isn't this just a prototype, like the BL5 prototype you can see in the actual catalogue?

The final Beolab 9 is state of the art in design... could not say it of this concept with 3 "lego boxes". BL9 in red is a real stunner in design and sound.

The original BL9 concept wasn't intended for retail - was supposed to be a studio monitor grade speaker, built to withstand being shifted about in a studio. while delivering acoustic lens definition of the sound. That accounts for the original shape - then it clearly grew on someone!

I know it's not their market, but it's a shame they didn't release the studio version, I'd kill for something like that. BeoLab 9s would get mashed up pretty quickly in the studio (it's not exactly... civilised when I get into a recording session with my band :D)
