Beovision 9000/9002 with the tambour door

Don't know the model number but it was white, slightly curved cabinet and sat on a Trumpet Stand - circa late 70's - stunning. I bought one second hand once and always regretted selling it.

Avant - the one I have in black looks seriously cool

Come to think of it, nearly all B&O TV's have been beautiful and it's hard choosing a favourite

    Beovision Avant 32 RF, DVD1, Beovision 1, MX4002, Beound 3000, Beolab Penta MKII, Beovox Penta, Beolit 707, Beolink Passive, Beovox C30, Beocom 4, Beogram TX, 4 x Beo4, Form 1 & 2, Beocenter 7700, Beovox S65,

CTR: White Beovision 600 on trumpet stand. Has always been my favorite.

Flat: BeoVision 7-32 with 7.1 on floor stand. I think the way the BeoLab makes the screen almost float is fantastic, and the sleek single pole is just beautiful. The 7-40 floor stand is also nice, but a little too clumsy to my taste.

The LX is a very good design (own one my self), but it is some what ordinary. Although it is streets ahead of any CTR from other brands, it is still ordinary in B&O terms.

    Living room: BV7-40 mkIV + V8000, BL5, BL3, BM1 and BS9000. Bedroom: MX3000 and BL4500 on MCL2-AV. Around: PentaIII, CX100 and MCX35 on ML/MCL + MCL2-A, BeoPort and BL4 on ML, BS3300 + M75 as stand alone, BC6000 + BC600 and BT1100, LC1, LC2, Beo4, Beo5 and BL1000, BS2 and A8, EarSet2, Apron, Coffee mugs, Enamel Bagdes, Bath towel, Keyring, Books, Lots of miniature and the Bottle opener. Office: BC2300 + BL2500 and BS3. Summer house: BS Century.

    - MX series 55 cm, the most stunning design ever (in black or white)

    - Avant RF, a very strong statement too, but too deep at the rear to be elegant from all angles (in tungsten or silver)

    - BV5, so pure (not BV9, which is less refined both in proportions as in details)

I have got the impression that when they were confronted with CRT constraints, the designers came with more original solutions

It is difficult to design an outstanding flat-TV, but B&O has done it: BV7-32 with BL7.1 on floor stand. My favorite TV.

    MX series

+1. Particularly, MX1500 or MX4000. Those photos in brochures of the time showing the MX1500 placed on the bedroom floor were selling a very beautiful lifestyle as well as an incredibly well designed product that was very much of its time but simultaneously classic. The 4000 is probably even more beautiful, but strangely out of place in the 90s.

I agree too, Avant TV is in my opinion a beautiful piece of Art.

Over all Beovision 7-40, the old CRT's were better designed, but not so beautiful because of their thickness.

For CRT's I would choose Beocenter 1, the most amazing looking CRT ever!

I will say LX. The best and most beautiful I ever had.

Also a good wote for longest life for a Beovision.

I love my BV4 50", but my all time favourite B&O TV is the MX 4400. It merges the art of encasing a bulky CRT and a characteristic B&O design.

I think you probably mean the Beovision 3500.  The problem with these was the plastic ages and goes yellowy.

That's the one! - absolutely beautiful, but yes, shame about the plastic - I remember watching an episode of the New Avengers and Purdey had one!

    That's a simple one 4 me :

1] BV3 by far !! have two of them around the house and if one should break down ? I'd buy me another one..:-)

    2] Avant DVD RF

    3] MX series

    4] AV9000

    5] BV5

Re: Most beautiful B&O TV ever !

    This is a tough one.

I really liked the Beovision 5 and disliked the Beovision 9 at first but I have come to love the Beovision 9. So much I consider my BV7-40 Full HD as temporary while the wife is getting used to the though of spenting that much on a TV set. But I am not sure either will last the test of time to become the most beautiful ever...
To me the 21" MX is really a beauty and still looks as good today as i did more than 20 years ago. The Beovision 6 for me represents the perfect LCD version of the MX series and I still love it every time I look at it.

It has to be those two sets.

And for the BV3 I don't get it. To me it is a living proof B&O does not always get it right. To me it really represents the "mistakes happens" design. Wink
