    Well, here we are, a Forum dedicated to BeoWorld members with a mouse in one hand, and a soldering iron in the other! Laughing

    Personally, i have trouble wiring a plug, so you shall not be seeing a great deal of me on here - but i hope this can give you all the answers you need and will find it useful.  The Forum, and indeed the website, is for it's members - and we will always make improvements if we see it necessary.

    I own a beogram 1800 and for some reason the arm will lift and move to the proper position for and LP, the arm will set down and then lift off the LP and drag across the surface of the turntable making a terrible racket.  Why is it doing this, and how can I correct it?

    It needs cleaning. There is a small cylinder which needs cleaning out and new damping fluid putting in it. This gets sticky with age so the arm lifts too slowly. You may also notice that the arm takes a little longer to drop than it used to. The service manual is on site but you may prefer to get your dealer to do this as it is a little fiddly!
