    Ooouuccchhh!!!! Inspiration!

    Hi,

Ive spend this past month drooling over the BS9000. Been drinking a lot of water, dont worry.

I've placed it mentally all over my house... so its cool.... but....

With the rumor/whatever of the BeoSound/Master 5, it has put everything (except the drooling) to hold... This is mainly because I have have many MP3 files that I listen to.

Do you guys think that if the BeoSound 9000 were to play MP3 cds, would people still be as much interested of the BS/M5?

I know that the BS9000 along with the Beoport plays mp3, but if Im going to have to start my computer, adn then just before sleeping for example have to switch it off, then there is no point adding the BS9000 to the equation.

    So ideally the options are:

    • BeoMedia 1 + BeoSound 9000
    • BeoS/M5

I know its too early to judge, considering that the BSM5 hasnt even come out yet, but price-wise, a new BS9K and used BM1 is believed to cost the same as just the BSM5 alone, right?

Is the BM1 really a bad investment? For the sake of cover art and whatever people think the BSM5 can do. the BS9K will also have the ability to play CDs, radio etc etc and can be operational without the TV. What am I missing?

Btw, that is the inspirational thought :)

    Thanks

I would just say that it is urgent to... wait...

I would not buy any B&O sound element until the Beomaster 5 / Beosound 5 official specs are out.

It is possible (bit this is only speculation) that, like the Beomedia1, it can be use alongside another Beosound. The Beosound 5 does not appear to have Radio and CD, so they would complement nicely.

Wait until the BeoSound 5 comes out, it's too early to judge seeing as there is still very little information publicly available...

Is this thrue that the bs-5 doesn't have radio on board?

I guess you're both right... but im thinking that if the beomedia 1 has at least a shuffle mode... and can link room it should be enough for me. Since it will have the advantage of also being able to display photos... plus its cheap now (on ebay)...

lets see... if the BM/S5 is nothing more than an MP3 player, however fancy it looks, i dont think ill bother... 5000 EUROS!!! wow.

    Ahhhh, the wait is on....

It's a long wait, but you'll really regret not waiting for it. Everyone I've spoken to who has seen BeoSound 5 has been bowled over by it, and from what I've heard, I can't blame them.

BeoSound 5 will access Net radio and therefore will not have an AM/FM Tuner.

If you have Beomedia and BS9000 you can acces to N.Radio without turn the computer on.

You can relax. The BS5 is the control interface for a unit that does what BeoMedia 1 did, and then some. If you buy a BS5, you get it included as I understand from comments.

Do people think that its possible to connect two or more BS5 to one BM5? This way, there is no need to worry about the 2-way beo5 etc, yet retaining complete control over the media selection, regardless of which room you are located?

What happens when you press the Radio button on the Beo4 for the BS5 ?

    Or, maybe List>N.Radio ?

    I'm curious...

Unfortunately, that's a no-no, The BS9K can only play audio CDs, and CDRs. It cannot play data CDs, MP3CDs, or even CD-RWs.

If there was an update to the software / hardware which would enable it to do so, I'd sign up right away.

    Re: Ooouuccchhh!!!! Inspiration!

It seems that I might have been wrong, sorry.

Just tried it, but without luck. I am however not completely convinced, and I find it strange that my BS9000 sometimes with burnt cds spin them at a much higher speed, as if it was a cd-rom...
