Hello

 We have picked up a lovely Beosystem 7007, but it is very, very dirty, as are the Beovox s45 speakers with it. We are sure the radio works, and not at all sure for the turntable and cassette - but I'm willing to work on these.

 Does anyone have advice on how to clean it, and what to look out for eg fragile areas. I'm particularly concerned how to clean the metallic parts.

In the first event, a damp cloth with a small amount of water at detergent. If that is not getting you anywhere, a small amount of alcohol on a cloth can also do it. Nothing abrasive.

The wood will clean with some linseed oil and white spirit mixture and then use either Danish Oil or beeswax. 

These are splendid music centres and well worth getting working. Welcome to Beoworld. 

Thanks so much, Peter. I'm a little trepidatious to start cleaning, I don't want to damage it, but I'll start and see how it comes up.

I use Morrison's or Asda's multi surface wipes followed by drying with a lint free cloth. Perfect for this type of application, especially the brushed aluminium panels which come up a treat Really good on the plastic parts too as they don't leave a residue and the lemon scented ones make everything smell nice.
