    connection to beovision7

    Hello,

I recently bought a bluray player and wish to connect it to my BEO vision 7 mk 3 TV. The bluray player , I believe needs a HDMI cable connected to it, but I need to know where to connect it to on the back of the TV. The reference booklet seems to indicate the DVI-I socket, is this the correct input for the HDMI cable? Or do I need an adaptor?

    Cheers .

    Paul.

You need an adapter - your dealer should be able to provide one. You will also need an audio cable.

Dear Peter i am getting different advice on this question one chap says the hdmi from the bluray will plug straight into my beovision mk3, not sure, went to commet this morning, they said the dv1-1 is an older version and i would need as you say an adapter. i find it hard to believe a new as in less than 6 mounth old tv does not have bluray capability.

    Cheers for the info. Paul

    sorry i shoudl have explained

if your TV is a MK3 it will have 4 hdmi sockets on so you can just plug your blueray player into one of those and set it on the connections menu, you dont need to use DVI if you use HDMI???

on the BV7 mark 3 the DVI is an output for projector and is DVI D which is not compatible with DVI-I or DVI-A

The DVI connection on a MK2 is an input.

Since the op is talking about mk3 with DVI and doesn't mention a screen size I am guessing he is talking about a 32".  If this is the case you need an HDMI to DVI adapter.  As peter said you will also need to connect a cable for the audio.  If you are just using a 7.1 speaker then a scart lead will be fine.  If you have surround speakers then your player probably has an optical out, you can connect this to the TV but will probably need a toslink to coax convertor like the one linked below
