    BeoVision 3 - can't get past standby!

Never had this problem before.  Turned tv on and pressed the control for the tv and nothing happened but the standby light is on constantly.  Checked batteries in control and all working ok.  Don't know what's happened.  Can anyone help?

If it appears to be stuck in standby, the first thing to do as with most B&O products, is to disconnect the TV from the mains for 5 minutes. Then reconnect, leave for a couple of minutes then try to switch on again.

If this doesn't work you will need to confirm that the remote is transmitting - this can be done by aiming the remote at your camera phone and pressing a button on the remote - you should be able to see the transmitted IR command on your camera it the remote is working.

If it is then the TV is faulty - on a BV3, that will probably mean chassis and or EEPROM replacement. I would always recommend replacing the chassis and EEPROM for a stuck in standby fault...

Thank you for getting back to me.  I have checked the remote and that seems to work as you indicated below.  I see the flash from remote in camera phone.  I have just unplugged from mains - will give that 10 minutes and try again.

If that does not work does the replacement you talk about take long?  Is it expensive?  Does this have be done by a BO specialist?

    Thanks again

Yes, it is expensive...give me the serial number and I'll give you an indication of expected cost.

What part of the country do you live?

Is it set to option 0 accidently?

Try to set it again in option 1, or 2 if used in combination with a beosound.

Another option: disconnect the ML cable if used.
