    Beogram CD3500

Can anyone out there help me with a problem i have with my beosystem 3500, the beogram cd3500 is currently playing as it should reading tracks, skipping through tracks etc fine, BUT! playback is accompanied by a curious random popping on the RH channel its seems more prominent on bass passages, also i notice when the system is switched off i get a popping on the RH channel also. Any info would be great fully received i have the wiring diagram for the beogram cd3500 so i can directly trace to the component if necessary  i only have a voltmeter and a avo however so if any thing requires a scope i'm up the perverbial creek without a paddle.

    Regards Maurice

Welcome to Beoworld, and thanks for joining as a silver member, your support is greatly appreciated ! Yes - thumbs up

What speakers do you use, active ?
Are the popping only when playing CD's, nothing on radio stations etc. ?

    Re: Beogram CD3500

    Hi Martin

thanks for a really quick reply! i am using passive speakers but the popping is only evident on the CD  every other function is working fine. I should also add the popping is also present on headphones rh channel (B&O A8s). thats about it as far as i can get with fault description.  I know its the CD player as i have a CDX iv' e run through the Beomaster 3500 ( din plug conversion on cdx) think its possibly a cap going out of spec?

Could be a cap but it could also be something else, very hard to tell.

The only way to find things like this is to put an oscilloscope to the signal path to see where the pop is coming from.
