Can anybody recommend a non B&O 4ohm speaker that goes well with a BeoMaster 8000 suitable for a wide range of music types (classical to rock)?

Don't forget that MS150/150.2s were 8ohm, as were Beovox Pentas, so the contemporaneous B&O passive speaker options were all a little limited in the full load that a Beomaster 8000 could deliver.

For what it's worth, I have a Beomaster 8000/Beogram 4002/Beogram CDX/Beovox Penta set up in my living room, and I doubt you'll find a better partner for the Beomaster 8000 than a passive set of Pentas. To the best of my knowledge, I'm the only one here on this forum with this pairing, but I can tell you that it's the BOMB :) 

How much are you looking to spend? B&W's XT4 has a nominal impedance of 8Ω, but dips as low as 3.1Ω which would provide a good challenge for an 8000 to drive. They're damn difficult to drive and hence have got a reputation of sounding poor at high volumes, but as long as your amplifier can handle any kind of load (which the 8000 can), then they stay in control beautifully even up to high volumes.

Although they do cost £1700.

I have KEF iQ9 speakers since about 2 months and they sound very good. The design is not amazing, but for 1500€ they're great.

I use them with an old Braun atelier R4 amp.

I use 4 pcs JAMO POWER 555 with my BM8000. Contemporary and powerful. I couldn't wish for more.

My Beomaster 8000 is driving Beovox M150's. They handle it well and sounds very good. I'm not tired of listning to them. That's for sure.
