    Repalcement woofer for Beovox C/CX

    Hi there,

I am aware of, that the foam of the woofer for Beovix C/CX can be replaced, but is it knows which brand supplied B&O with woofers for the C/CX? Is it possible to get new replacements for these or is only choice a reburbished woofer?

What is the experience with renovating these type of Beovox speakers.

     Best regards

    Nis Sorensen

Hello, and welcome to Beoworld. You can get brand new woofers from B&O at a cost of about £25.00 each. Or if you want to you can refoam the old drivers. You can get the kits from http://goodhifi.com/. I have just ordered some for a pair of M75's. Their service is very good, I was suprised at how quickly my e-mails were answered.

    Hi Craig,

Got in touch with GoodFi and have received kits for my CX100 speakers as well as for my RL140.

Now I just have to find the time for starting the repair work.

Do be careful when you align and re-shim those RL140 woofers, tolerances are tight and any misalignment will have the coil former scraping on the magnet.

Re: Replacement woofer for Beovox C/CX and RL 140

    Martin,

I am glad I only read about the tight tolerances AFTER re-doing my RL140s.  I would have perhaps not attempted it!

Having started with a pair of CX100s I moved on to the speaker in my LX2500 (no direct replacement listed but a close match found) and then tackled my RL140s.  I found that lots and lots of clothes pegs to help keep it all in postion were helpful.  On a small speaker 4 - 8 would do the trick, but on the RL140s I think I used about 16!

I would also recommend taking a picture (or 2) of the inside of the RL140 when taking it apart just to ensure you put the interior back the way it was.  WIth 4 woofers to replace it was almost a week to do the job for me and I was gald of an image to help relocate everything.
