    Beocenter 9000 MUTE RELAY??

    Hi,



    How can I clean/lube my beocenter's mute relay? It has some kind of plastic "shield" and

    I couldn't get it off because I was afraid that it will break.. :)

    I had to solder mine out and pry it open with a screwdriver. Very fiddly job. The plastic has become very brittle with age, but if you crack it, you could always just tape it back together or just buy a new relay. I believe they are available as a spare part.

    I have not found cleaning effective for more than a day or so. The relay is available as a spare part from B&O or I'm sure you can get a substitute from an electronics supplier for 10% of the B&O price!
