    why is the Beosound 3200....

1000 euros more expensive than the beosound 4? The salesperson at the B&O store told me it's because of the Hard drive, but that sounds silly...i mean hard drives are fairly cheap these days...I really like the rubbery finish on the beosound 4 but the beosound 3200 is very luxurious looking. So why the price difference?

As for the BS3200, the price was based some few years ago, this may explain why at this time, integrating an hard drive in that kind of product, having the quality (material), design, could justify the price tag.

Furthermore you had the MP3 functionality added on the Beosound, and at this former time, that was great.

IMHO, it's a whole thing (hard drive, design, premium material, functionalities) when considering the price of this product.

    Hi,

It's not only the hard drive but the BS 3200 has a better sound quality (more output dynamic) than the BS4, the materials

used for BS3200 are more expensive. Go to a retailer and compare BS4 with the same Hp's to a Bs3200 and you will

    hear the difference.

hi thanks for the replies...i will buying one of these two soon and i like them both so much that i can't decide.

even though the BS 3200 has been around it still looks great ! But the Beosound 4 is newer and B & O don;t update their products very often which is actually a good thing... if you think about it...

    Just for your information.

The Beosound 4 collects more (lots more) dust than the BS3200.

It looks like more dust because of the [blsck] color, but in reallity no difference imho.

I own a BS4 and our "old" BS2500, but I prefer the design of the BS2500/3200 but not by much and I really prefer the BS4 over the BS2500/3200 in use : just stick the SD card in de PC in the BS2,BS3 or BS4 and you'll have "your own" music everywhere; even to go !!
