    Beosound 6 issues

    Hi everyone

I have a Beosound 6 that I bought secondhand and is linked to my Vista equipped PC.

I was hoping to keep my I tunes files and somehow transfer these to my BS6 rather than rebuild it all again on the B&O version.

I have tried using Beoplayer, but It would not "recognise" the BS6 unit, which is odd.

    Any thoughts?

Hi, if you have Windows Vista, you need the latest version of BeoPlayer/BeoPort (v4.81), the previous ones are not Vista compatible.

I think you also need a BeoSound 6 plugin to make it recognizable by BeoPlayer, the plugin is one the CD ROM that should have been delivered with the BS6.

Finally, if you want to use ITunes and not BeoPlayer, you also need an ITunes plugin which will recognize BS6 when you connect it to your PC and use ITunes.

All plugins can be found on the official B&O website, under "digital media", software downloads.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for info.

I had a BS6 CD rom but all that had is a couple of links to the B&O website, one for the Beoplayer install and one for B&O generally. Am I missing a piece of software.........?

I installed firstly the Beoplayer version (then updated for the Vista compatible) but it still does not "see" the BS6 to copy music to. Confused, what have I done wrong?

Alternatively, If I wanted it to just sit on top ITunes, would I uninstall Beoplayer and just download the plugin?

Any more thoughts? Am I missing something as it is not recognising the BS6 at all.

    Cheers

    Re: Beosound 6 issues

Does anyone have any news in regards to this reported issue. I have exactly the same experience with my new BS6 in that it is not seen or recognised by Beoport. The device is however seen in Vistas Explorer and by MediaPlayer where it can be synchronised as an external device. I have the lastest Beoport version 4.83 without any change (same experience as in previous versions).

     Kind regards

     Rolf

Re: Beosound 6 issues - Solved

To solve this issue I removed the full BeoPort installation from Vista via the ControlPanel/Softtware/Un-install and then reinstalled the latest BeoPort version (currently 4.83) after this full installation the BeoSound became visible via the Copy routine.

     Regards Rolf

I have put this solution as an Author's note in the product information page. I have also linked it to this thread.
