Beocom 6000 & wireless router interference

Hi, a UK living newbie here with a topic I've seen discussed but the suggestions from here haven't worked.

I connected my new Beocom 6000 with no problems and was very happy with it until I plugged in my wireles router and tried to use the phone when I got a lot of wireless interference.  As suggested on here, I have changed channels on my router (It was 3 so I have tried all channles from 13 down) but I still get interference.

I don't really want to replace my faithful old Netgear DG834G wireless router, but I don;t know what else to do.  Help!

Try repositioning the Beoline. I had some problems initially but moving the Beoline fixed it.I moved it to another room.

What type of interference are you getting?  I have the same router and works fine with my BC2 & BC6000.

It could also be that the powersupply of your router is causing interference.

In my view Zwets comment about the power supply is the most likely cause, these can be very noisy devices.

Suggest you plug one of the power supplies into a different socket ring.

Thanks for your help so far!

The interference on the phone ranges from white noise to electronic sounding noise.  The router is upstairs and the phone was situated downstairs.

Are you really sure that the noise is caused by your router itself, in other words, if you have the white noise on the line and you then unplug the router, does the noise go away.

If yes also consider that your Netgear router is also connected to the phone line because it contains an ADSL modem, so do you have a micro filter on your phone line which the Beocom 6000 phone line plugs into. The microfilter could also be faulty.

White noise is going to come from a carrier on the phone line, whilst the BeoCom 6000's are DECT phones, the phone line is analogue which is why you need a microfilter on each of your phone lines in your home, otherwise you will have a problem.

    Please check your microfilters

    Sudla,

White noise is a random noise signal that has the same sound energy level at all frequencies or stated in another way, sounds containing every audible frequency at approximately the same intensity.

The following is a typical example of a Microfilter as used in the UK

    Micro Filter

This ADSL micro filter allows you to share broadband and analogue telephone equipment on one socket.

To ensure the quality of both the telephony and the ADSL, it is important that every piece of telephony equipment must be filtered including telephones, fax machines and even simple tone callers. This doesn't mean that every piece of equipment has to have a filter, only that every telephone socket that has telephony equipment attached to it should have a micro filter fitted first.

    Regards Keith....

    Hello again!

The white noise stops as soon as I unplug the router and I have microfilters on both lines, so I am well and truly stumped!

When you say "as soon as I unplug the router" do you mean unpluging the power to the router and leaving the phone line connected ?

OR do you mean unplugging the router phone line and leaving the router power connected or unplugging both ?

    Regards Keith....
