Thanks to all who helped me with my previous post regarding playing quadraphonic vinyl. Thanks to those responses, I am now the proud owner of a beautiful ex-museum Beomaster 3400 (courtesy of Lifestyle AV).
However, clearly I now need a quad turntable, so I have a few further queries:
1 I know that the Beomaster 3400 has no internal processing for quadraphonic sound - this is done by the turntable. I also believe that the Beogram 6000-1 has internal processing for CD4 quad vinyl only (not for SQ). Does this mean that in order to play both SQ and CD4 formats in true quad, I need to pair a Beogram 3400 with the Beomaster 3400 (or a Beogram 6000-1 with the Beomaster 6000)? Or is it possible to plug a Beogram 6000-1 into my Beomaster 3400 and play everything?
2 The BG6000-1/BM6000 combination is certainly more attractive visually than the BG3400/BM3400 combo, but which would give better sound? Or is a BG6000-1/BM3400 setup the best audio solution?
3 What does the remote control for a Beomaster 6000 control? Just the amp, or will it control an attached turntable and tape deck too?
Thanks everybody (especially Peter) for all your help, as usual!
