    IR and BeoCenter 2

    Need some help.

I have a BeoCenter 2 (brand new) and everything is fine BUT for the noise it gets from the Plasma TV I have next to it.  As a result I can not control the BC 2 with the remote when the TV is on.  I went and bought a IR Eye from the B&O store.  I have pluged it into the CRTL on the BC 2 socket but nothing happens. Is there a setting I must do for the unit to operate via the IR Eye?

    Thanks

    Re: IR and BeoCenter 2

I know the port for connecting an IR eye is there, I am just not sure if it is really active. The setup manual ignores it somehow.

My understanding is, that normally the IR eye is used for products that do not have their own IR. I.e. Beoport. Beosystem 1, 2 and 3. Beolink Passice or Active.

Maybe ask again in the general forum, it will get a bit more attention there.

    Cheers

Noise from plasma TVs has been a problem in the past. I seem to remember that B&O make a filter to get around the problem - worth asking.

The IR on the socket panel is not for this use. It is for connecting to products like the BeoSystem 1 / Avant with older chips that cannot execute full control via ML.
