    VX Sensor

Today I bought a Beocord VX 4500 at a flee market for only 6 Euro. Nice exterior condition and to my supprice the unit seems to work, the sound is really good an the picture quality i quite ok. However, I can not control it by remote control. It is hooked up to my LX2500 (my only TV-set) and probably the datalink module II was not installed. Strange because it should have some kind of datalink since I can control the TV from the mcl2a in another room via the beomaster 5500 in the main room. If I press V.tape in the the link room, the vx 4500 starts but the TV does not. If I press TV, the TV starts too. As I see it, I need a vx sensor.

Does anyone have a spare VX Sensor for sale?!

    Hi,

this is what the PCG software displays regarding Datalink.

    ************************* VIDEO SYSTEM SETUP **************************

    Beocord VX 4500 (VR 1)

    Connection Video

Connect the VR 1 to the TV-set using a fully specified 21/21-pin
    A/V cable (RGB cable).

    Selecting option on the TV-set

The TV-set must be equipped with a Datalink module MK2.
If a Datalink module MK1 is built into the TV-set, replace
the 5IC1 software with the MK2 version, part no. 8341101.

    Option:  OPTION 1 (Factory setting)

Set the five code switches on the Datalink module to the following
    positions:

    Switch 1 - OFF
    Switch 2 - OFF
    Switch 3 - OFF
    Switch 4 - OFF
    Switch 5 - OFF

If no Datalink module is built in, modify the TV-set as follows.
    NEW 26/27IC4            8341001
    NEW Tuner Module        8003904 (module 51 38XX)
    IF  Sound Module        8003889
    if Nicam, NO modification
if Sound Module 24/28 ver. II, remove IC 103,
establish clock/data signal path as in module 55/56 38XX
if Sound Module 24/28 ver. I, shift to Nicam or module 55/56 38XX

The TV-set has now been modified to type 38XX.
    Make now a new configuration with a 38XX (LX2502/2802) TV-set

    Note!
The TV must be equipped with a Teletext module.

    Re: VX Sensor

    Yes indeed.

Thank you Ignace, for checking the PCG.

There is no datalink sticker on the TV-set, it is a type 3442 and the whiteline edition. For me, it would be to advanced to update the set to datalink mk 2 as stated in the PCG printout.

    Re: VX Sensor

I have a VX5000 which I want to connect to Beovision 7-40, but find I'm unable to display the VX5000 menu's etc. all it will do is play or stop (and standby).

I'm told a VX sensor is the answer, any idea how much these are or does anybody have one for sale?
